Hanson28
"Nite..... I hope you will find a good job speaking spanish here are some websites where you can find a job or send a CV. http://www.diversityworld.com http://www.eop.com http://www.saludos.com/webjob.html your University is very known in Latin America because the basketball games are always transmitted through the mormon church. I congratulate you for your excellent website and good luck with your job. Percy01" I made the translation using the Romanian I know, there might be some faults as I don't know Spanish. I'm a little German (that's why "Hanson") and I wish I would always be 28, because it's a damn good age. Recently I found out that a PHD doesn't bring more money. It's a great honour for me to be in such a good company here, as most of you study or already have a science related degree, but I was somehow expecting this, due to the nature of this website. Congratulations Nite for the top quality encodings. As my dl/ul speeds are very slow, although I'm on cable, small files are the only option for me to see something. Star Trek stopped on all TV channels here, after DS9. One channel started to broadcast Enterprise and stopped it in the middle of the first season. I was watching Voyager on SAT1 in German, but around season 5, my cable provider replaced SAT1 with RTL. The same thing happened with the French channel M6 while I was watching Star Gate. I have a friend who's over 60 years old and was around my age when Star Trek TOS appeard. He saw everything and was very sad that he can't see Star Trek any more. You can't imagine how exciting it is for me to see Enterprise together with this guy. It's like sharing a bottle of good wine with a connaisseur. God bless you Nite. Puckaroo
Hi, you all, I just joined the site, and I'm also pretty new at Star Trek but... promising... (I'm downloading all of the shows. One of these days I'm going to die of an overdose. ;) ). My name is Beatriz (yup I'm a girl), I study an engineer in computers (i don't know if that is how you say it in english), I'm spanish, live in the north coast of Spain. I speak english (or I try as you may read), and I am studying german now. Any other questions.. just ask. As I'm new to Star Trek I've decided to watch all of the shows starting by The original series, but any recomendations will be welcomed. Bbye. GeneralLee
WoW, I just saw this thread for the first time now. My real name is Lee (well, it's my middle name, but that's what I go by). The "GeneralLee" part, is from an old nickname several people gave me back in highschool, in 1973-74. I decided several years ago to go ahead and use that as a nick online, and have stuck with it since. If you look at my profile, and the email address, you can see my last name. It may ring-a-bell with some, dunno... I am currently 48 years old, born in 1956 (not sure, but I may be the oldest here that I have seen so far). I watched the original (TOS) Star Trek on TV when they first aired, as well as the original Lost in Space shows, as well as Batman, haha, if that helps date me. When I was in 6th grade, my friends and I (and many other youngsters around the USA) sent petitions to NBC to keep Star Trek on the air. This was in the spring of 1968 if I recall, (around the same time that Bobby Kennedy and Martin Luther King were both assassinated), and obviously, that failed, like it looks like the drive to save Enterprise may fail. I have worn many hats over the years.... Chef, resturant manager, cable TV installer, many others. I spent almost 12 years active duty in the US Navy, and was very active in the Desert Shield/Desert Storm conflict, in the Persian Gulf and Irag region in 1990-1991 (unfortunately). I went to college at Kent Sate University in Kent, Ohio USA, as a Psychology major. I have 2 younger brothers and an older sister. I am divorced, and have no biological children that I know of anyhow... tho I did help raise 4 children from a previous relationship years ago for quite some time. If I were still married, I doubt I'd have much time to do the things I now do. :p

elderbear
I'm a wee lad of 45. John was my maternal grandfather, Harvey was my paternal grandfather. Actually, he was born Avedis Yeretzian - but anglicized to Harvey Elder in the early 20th century. Yeretzian is Armenian for "Son of a Minister." Elderbear - there's a story behind that, too. I spent a day driving Starhawk around LA. When she was autographing some books to me she asked if "Elder" was my given name or my magical name. She explained about the magical properties of the elder tree - the witches' tree for a bit. Bear has been an Ally and Teacher of mine for a lot of years. Driving home after spending a day with that amazing woman I realized that elder+bear made a lot of sense for me. I got to honor my ancestors AND my Ally/Teacher all in one chosen name. maverick
i like that man. its a good story. my father gave me my name simply because it means leader of men. he said the name was akind of responsability which i should live up to. my surname means servant of finnian. Saint Finnian Finnian of Clonard is generally regarded as the father of Irish monasticism. He was born in Co. Meath towards the end of the fifth century and it is said that all the birds of Ireland gathered as a portent of the holy life he would lead. As a young man he founded three churches in Ireland before being attracted to monastic life in Wales. He studied under Saint Cadoc at Llancarfan, Glamorganshire, and was much influenced by Cadoc's pupil Gildas, who was critical of the worldliness and wealth of British bishops. Finnian became convinced that the ascetic life offered the best way of consecrating one's life to God. It was a belief well-suited to Ireland, with its population dispersed in small rural kingdoms. Finnian's first monastery was at Aghowle, Co. Wicklow, but he settled c. 520 at Clonard, Co. Meath, on the River Boyne. Clonard becarne the most famous monastic school of the sixth century, its importance derived from the number of disciples who left to found other monasteries. Finnian's most prominent pupils have been called the twelve apostles of Ireland. The saint died of plague c. 549, but the monastery at Clonard survived until the sixteenth century. my middle name is spanish as my family on my fathers side is spanish and greek, but i'vegone on long enough laters
