you know whats really scary is that the Daleks arent even the strongest force in the Dr Who universe . arguements can be made for the Sontarans and the Cybermen as well.

The Sontarans would also kick the Borgs arse

There billions of Sontarans, so sheer numbers would overcome the borg. As for the Cyberman I refer the right honourable gentlemen to the posts above.... :p

Actually, the Doctor has himself refered to the Daleks as the most ruthless and advance lifeforms in the Universe.

No-one else managed to wipe out the the Time Lords and Gallifrey (except the Doctor - twice).

The Doctor wipe out Gallifrey?

The 8th Doctor wiped out Gallifrey in the BBC novels and it was implied (by the Doctor's own words) in the episode 'Dalek' the 9th Doctor wiped out Gallifrey during the Time War.

Let's not forget that Daleks have the ability to DOWNLOAD THE INTERNET - with that weapon, should the Borg try to assimilate them, they'd just crash.

Realistically though, the Borg seem to have shown little real ability in fighting - their strategy, send a single cube to assimilate an entire civilisation. Rinse and repeat. The Daleks actually get together a few thousand saucers and become a dominant life-force.

Somehow, I can't seem a bungler like Janeway managing to run rings around the Daleks as easily as she did to the Borg.

The book probably referred to the same thing' date=' so he's only done it once.[/quote']

No, in the EDA's the Doctor destroyed Gallifrey to prevent the Faction Paradox from warping history. He actually fought a version of the Grandfather Paradox. And plus there's an indication in 'The Gallifrey Chronicles, but know people want to read that for themselves'

Where as in the TV series, he quite clearly stated that the destruction of Gallifrey was an event in the time war vs Daleks.

Definitely 2 different occasions. Phew, Imagine trying trying to sleep at night with that on on your conscience.

lol. Sounded a bit bookwormish there - sorry. I know more than it's actually sane/healthly to know about the good doctor

ah The Daleks beat Galifrey but the Sontarans also conquerd Galifrey albiet for a short period

Ah, but that was all deception on the Doctor's part. Technically though, the Sontarans have captured a TARDIS because as far as I know there is still one wandering around in there from 'Invasion'

It does depend a bit on the era of Dalek you are talking about in the first episode they appeared in they were nearly helpless and massively weaked they could not leave there buildings as they used the floor for energy and the doctor defeated them them with a jacket over their eye turret.

Otherwise they would be tough when at their peak but they were never that good at adapting, Ido know one episode where they couldn't use their energy weapons so they changed them to projectile weapons.

Dr Who 2005 showed us they are smart and able to regenerate as well as having powerful technolgy but hard to compare who technology with ST tech.
