  1. I always liked him best in Lolita. My favorite comedic actor is George W. Bush (HA!) Arrested Development, although the second season isn't as good; Simpsons, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Reno 911, I always liked Strangers with Candy.
  2. I don't think anyone is trying to downplay the importance of diplomacy for a Captain, but diplomacy is more important for Admirals. Exploration should be the main goal of a ship Captain. I like the fact that Picard wasn't looking for a fight, but he was just to scared of new ideas. Anytime the ship went somewhere it wasn't supposed to, instead of using the situation as a chance for observation and learning, he just tried to get back home as quickly as possible.
  3. Margaret Cho : Revolution Is a stand-up act considered a movie? I don't think it was in theatres. If not, then Love Liza.
  4. Listening to A.C. Newman, Franz Ferdinand, and Sufjan Stevens now.
  5. They should start up a new show, with the movie being the pilot episode. That way you would have a film based on a series, but you wouldn't have to wait until the show developed a fanbase.
  6. There are surely enough rabid trekkies to donate to your ship if it would really work. Star Trek fans are willing to spend ungodly amounts of money on little stuff like figurines and autographed t.v. guides. If you designed a ship to look just like enterprise that would really work, You could probably raise a hundred million from trekkies all over the world to get it up and running.
  7. I find that some of my favorite songs and albums are ones that I hated at first. I always give something at least two or three chances over time before deciding if I like it.
  8. I'd say all the 'real news' shows are biased towards conservatives, and all the 'entertainment news' shows like the daily show are biased towards the liberals. Seems there is no way to find unbiased news in the U.S. anymore. I simply don't watch the news; I find the news to be frustrating and corrupting, not to mention dull and repetative. Any important story filters down to everyone through other means anyway.
  9. No fantasy please, we get off topic enough already!
  10. Your impulse engines have flaps with naked lady silhouettes on them.
  11. Cogenitor, Enterprise. I've never been so upset in all my life over fiction. I'll never forgive Archer for leaving those people in slavery just to make his first contact go smoothly.
  12. Simpsons, Arrested Development, the Adult Swim lineup (most of it), nip/tuck, Deadwood, Carnivale, various anime.
  13. "Androids do it in .000473 seconds." "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few...or the one...unless it's me." "If you can read this, my cloak just failed."
  14. Yeah, but the Captains of the ships around which the series' have been centered have all been from the U.S., I think, except Picard.
  15. I'd say Enterprise D/E. Commander level therapist and Doctor, First officer that has been offered his own ship multiple times, Data (enough said), Incredible security and Engineering people, even O'Brian was pretty brilliant.
  16. As near as I can tell, a mosh pit is an area in front of the stage where people 'slamdance', which, I think, means agressively slam into each other in a dancing fashion.
  17. Not much of a Bach fan...I prefer Chopin and Soler. Right now i've been listening to Jack Johnson, Blur, and Mary Timony.
  18. Jean-Luc Picard sounds English to you? He's from France. Still not American, though.
  19. Kirk is way too reckless, but Picard's restraint borders on cowardice. Sisko had enough free time to drop by a few dozen new worlds in the gamma quadrant, he just didn't.
  20. I don't know which is which in the U.K. I like ginger and almond windmill cookies.
  21. "Please, Captain, not in front of the Klingons."
