I disliked her from the very start. Even the sound of her shrill voice would make me cringe. (I realize she was also the voice of the computer.) It wasn't until I saw DS9 421 - "The Muse", that I actually started to LIKE her. Then later I went back and watched the TNG ep 422 - "Half a Life". I think I can really understand this character. She needs to talk and behave the way she does because it takes some of the edge off the pain of being elderly and alone.

Nice trivia about the actor being roddenberry's wife. Didn't know that.

Probably because she goes by her maiden name Barret instead of Roddenberry. MBR. She was also second in command in the pilot TOS, but had to change her role to nurse coz someone didn't like it. She got the role as #1 coz Gene wanted to keep her happy hehe. Didn't work out.

I forget what she talked about at the convention in Chicago, but Q (DeLancie) was there too. He's a fackin riot. Swearing and spewing jokes and personal stories. Majel almost broke her neck from tripping over the mic cord when she walked off stage. Luckily Q was behind her to save the day lol.

SNIPPET:

Janeway goes down as my most hated ever' date=' [/quote']

Why?

Na I just really don't like that character.

Really pissed me off... made me wanna beat up the writers for coming up with that craptastic episode.

The above quote refers to Tuvix ---

I think the writers came up with that EP because Neelix got on Tuvok's nerves so much they though it would be funny to "join them at the hip"...so to speak.

I think Jane way takes the medal b/c she is soo friggin iratinal' date=' she made an alliance w/ the borg.... omg..... i am just gonna stop there...[/quote']

Still can't figure out just what the heck you mean by "iratinal". Tried a dictionary but couldn't find that word anywhere in it.

[x] Sisko

His voice always sounds as if he wants to hug and kiss you

Hahaha...among other things... :p

I don't want to be an ars' date=' but I think Lwaxana was a good character for the show, sure she was annoying, but she was supposed to be like that. I a sense I even kinda like her (NO, not in THAT sense!). :D[/quote']

You're correct. She was meant to be annoying.

Janeways my most h8d ever, commodore, because in my personal opinion mulgrew was a terrible choice to play her for starters, annoying shrieking voice and so wooden in her acting, i also despised the bullsh** political correctness of Voyager as a whole, i stated in another thread that i wasn't happy at the focus on a female captain or the inclusion of a "coloured" vulcan, the dude playing Tuvok was excellent i must admit, and i liked the character, but to have "coloured" Vulcans when none have ever been seen before is ludicrous, i think Tuvok is the ONLY one in existance so where did he come from? :P and to do that without having "white" Klingons is just racist, lol.

Seriously though i just didn't like the whole outlook of the show, and the character of Janeway, although my knowledge on her is limited by the fact i couldn't bring myself to watch every episode and after a season or 3 i only started watching it randomly when i noticed it on, which for me to do that with a star trek program is very unusual indeed, with every other series i've been hooked.

It's not Vedic, it's Vedek. Yes, Vedek Winn is the most annoying character in my opinion, but then Grand Nagus Zek is annoying, and Commissioner Brunt is annoying as well. But the most annoying regualar cast member for me is Doctor Bashir. For the first three seasons he was good, but then about the tenth episode of the fourth his character started de-evolving somehow making him very strange. It is difficult to describe... Oh, and I must not forget to mention Lwaxana Troi. Need I say anything about her?

Vedek Winn is made to be hated, so not surprising.

Grand Nagus Zek represents the ultra-rich elite of our world, so he is meant to be exactly the way he is.

Commissioner Brunt is meant to represent the aspiring very-rich people of our world, so his character is comporable to Zek's.

And Lwaxana Troi - someone said this, but she acts the way she does because she needs to spread her pain of living alone with a silent servant among the people surrounding her, which she does very effectively.

And Q - I actually found him more funny than annoying. Actually, it was probably more Picard's reaction to him than Q himself. And Commander Sisko's reaction was... unparalleled by anything I have ever seen.

As for Ferengi, in DS9 episode 4x7 Little Green Men, one of the three of them (or was it Odo, I forgot) said that the people who had imprisoned them were a lot like the Ferengi where in Quark and co.'s time. Quark even says that even though the Federation tries to make themselves look like selfless do-gooders they still have a part of them that, according to Quark, is even worse than Ferengi greed.

weeeeesly crusher and deanna troi.....GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes me want to turn the TV off every time one of them comes on....*twitch twitch*

Neelix initially got to me, but then he became kind of like a mole - you don't like it there, but you've become so used to it that you just ignore it.
