So i was just browsing around the Internet when i found this little dandy. Info

Interesting to see that the Enterprise D Can't even handle a troop transport other than anything else. :p  :( :stare:    :D :cyclops:

This link you gave si where I'm leaning, the Empire would eat them alive. The Enterprise, supposedly the flagship and we assume the baddest of the bad, could be seriously beaten up by a squadren of Tie Fighters, phasers just dont fire that fast, and photon torpedos don't manuver like they do. Not to mention, so far as I know, the federation doesn't even have one/two man fighters, and what is a shuttlecraft gonna do?

We haven't even mentioned the Star Destroyers going head to head, all things being equal, if they were, the one man fighters would throw the balance over to the Empire.

actualy the Federation does have 1-2 man fighters. In the eps where they take back DS9 and they have to break throught the fleet of cardassian and Dominion, Sisko send in squads of fighters to attk the cardassians. ( i think they are called shrik ) or something.. i am not sure of the name, but i am sure of teh existance.

oh and you hear of a littel thing called "shields", yeah. something that SW universe lacks in, or at least their shields are not as powerful as Dominion Shields or Romulan.

Basically what this link teaches me is that if you place a StarWars vessel into the StarTrek universe, half of it's weapons won't function because of different laws of physics.

So maybe we should say in what universe we're fighting, b'cause if it's in the StarTrek universe, the StarWars buddies will have nothing to do but sit and wait for death to come... :cyclops:

I would assume that the oppsosite is also true (since no use of any similar force in StarTrek).

If you take a fight between them in a universe where both can use there full potential, then (according to that particular website) it would seem that the Federation would get it's worst defeat in history.

First off they do have shields on virtually every single craft in the SW universe, and the shields are more powerful then anything in the ST Universe.

Then we have to find/create a universe where the two can duke it out

You have to take other things into account than the GW of the weapons or the strenght of the shields. For example, transporters. That is a huge pro for the federation, there's no end to the nasty little war tactics that can be cooked up with that particular piece of technology.

But this versus doesn't really work. The federation has lots of tools and advantages that can't be applied to a universe empty of everything but the empire and the federation. Political alliances, etc. The same goes for the empire. Pitching these two organisations against each other in a fight that's won by the one with the biggest space guns isn't really interesting, since it doesn't truly measure what they are capable of.

Imagine a joint world where all the laws of physics and magic(force) are combined.

So you got them star wars peeps with their gigantic two legged machines and billions of clones and fleets that could outmatch any we've seen on star trek ever (except that one time when the Enterprise of Picard's was duplicated so many times coz an interdimensional rift was open). That, plus you got these one person dudes pumped up with them meddie-Chlorins that can predict a bit of the future. The construction of their fleet is not possible in a short time of one star wars episode unless they have a hell alot of resources. But what the heck, we did say we're combining the laws of the universe here.

Then we have the star trek universe. With countless of time travelling, interdimensional travelling, wormholes, Spatial ribbons that bring people to a happy place, Borgs, Jem Hadar, The Traveler, shapeshifters, Morn (DS9 extra), more time travelling and parallel universes, nebulas that disable sensors that seem to be explosive as well, nanites with a consciousness, gargantuous living crystals, Species 8472 and other space living creatures the size of space ships, and Tribbles. Though the tribbles alone could destroy the SW universe, lets not forget we also have higher-evolved beings like Kes and definitely Q, Warp 10 capability since VOY era (sorry if it was a spoiler but its just a small subplot), and SevenOfNine thats just futile to resist.

So in short, the superpowers are:

SW: the Force, and 100x the number of ships, and those pesky mosquito-ships

ST: Tribbles, time travel, parallel universes, Kes, Q, The Traveler, SevenOfNine, Borg

Ladies and gentlemen, I present the winner.... Star Trek. Which could also mean that Star Wars actually is more realistic despite The Force. @_@

This is 1 insane thread with even weirder posts.

Qs n Travellers... why would Qs and Travellers suddenly come out of nowhere !?

They can't even be bothered if Feds are getting extinct... and how does time travel and prallel universe stop or let u win a war !?

Lastly... even if SW tech is lower... they r high enough to give a good pounding and then there's a thing about their numbers... and training.

ST soldiers can barely hit... the Stormtroopers barely miss.

ST securities officers cry for mommies during a fight... ok maybe its not THAT bad.

But Stormtroopers are easily better footsoldiers.

Plus it also depends on which time line... 'cause if Episode 3... then Alpha quadrant gets owned big time... and badly.

If Empire from oroginal Trilogy... thn well.. it'll be a good fight.

PLUS

ST guys can't fight worth a crap with or without their ships even when their lives depend on it. I mean look at their gun and fistfights. Blame it on bad choregraphy but they still suk a$$

I guss the point i was trying to make was this:

1) One of the bigger starships would suddenly have the power to time travel backwards to the time when the rift between ST and SW universes was open and plug it

2) Wesley Crusher with the help of The Traveler could introduce the Federation to some more advanced civilisation in some distant galaxy then come back and whoopass, coz he already traveled into the future and saw that SW was whooping ST ass big time.

3) Tribbles will give everyone from SW universe an uncurable hayfever. They won't be able to operate their machinery effectively

4) Borg adaptability just plain rocks. After a while, SW weapons will be inaffective and they might as well give up.

5) Teleporters. SW doesnt have that technology. Throw some klingons and Jem Hadar into the ship. Maybe some modified EMH (EBH: emergency battle hologram) would be cool too. Heck, just beam the SW bridge crew into a fake simulation of a bridge, then takeover their ship. Actually, just beam them and scatter their molecules in space.

6) Who needs that electrocuting dark side force, when you got those guys who have the same powers coz their sun emits something strange? (TNG earlier seasons. These guys are addicted to some substance grown on a neighbouring planet).

7) Cloak and reappear at point blank range and hit em with everything they've got. Aim for that one weak spot that someone channels into the ship's reactor core. Federation could loan from Romulans or just use their Phase-Cloak from TNG which was supposed to be banned.

8) Go and find that male betazoid who bonded with that weird alien living spaceship. That was pretty powerful.

9) Create a subspace distortion using ionised particles from the deflector shields that interfere with SW electronics within the system. Or some other technological mumbo jumbo, like opening a spatial rift into some interplanetary cluster that renders all SW weapons useless.

10) With Warp 10 discovered during VOY, u could just take your time and eliminate all SW threat.

There. I've come up with enough crazy things that would've occured in ST episodes if this was real. Its all crazy, but its Star Trek.

In my experience these kind of questions are interesting superficially but the more you go into them, the less you have to hold onto.

To give them any meaning, you need to be extremely specific.

As I see it - the Empire have hundreds of thousands of planets at their disposal, massive numbers of troops and ships. Now you can play the treknobabble game all you want and go "oh but Data could do X" or "Janeway would Y" but that's hardly in the spirit of the "game" so to speak.

After all both sides can play at that and then it gets to be horribly childish.

Ultimately, you'll never get a satisfactory answer to this question because you can't pin down any numbers. I've seen people (allegedly) with degrees in physics go through pages of calculations to try and establish the power turbolasers compared to phasers... but at the end of the day, it's all based on speculation. So empirical evaluation is impossible.

Really, it comes down to opinion - so it's not "who do you think would win" so much as "who do you like the most".

Its had to decide who you like the most if you like both :P

If you think about it and ive seen it posted b4 in other threads concerning fed defenses and fleet sizes, that the fed has/is not prepared for a very large confrontation. The empire on the other hand is geared for it, and has lots of items at its disposal, not to mention practally an entire galaxy at its control, excluding planets on the outter rim. However these two would never meet in a logical sense due to a different timeline/tech/galaxies. I just wanted to see a shouting match between trekkies and sw geeks lol.

ok, well if you guys want to play this, cool. I am game.

Now you state in the Topic The SW vrs. Alpha quad. Now In the Alpha Quad there is the Klingons, Cardassian, Federation. (the Romuland are in the Beta Quad, to bad :()

Now are we talking the Empire aginst the Aplha Quad, or are we talking about The entire SW universe? Are teh Rebles and Empire allied, or would the empire be fighting two wars, one with the Rebels, and one with the alpha quad.

Philly, i suggest that you did like what i did in my Dominion vrs. Borg thread. Make a strategy for both of the opposing forces. Since we dont have real numbers to work off of, use logical guessing and make some up. Like i would assume that their would be about 800 x-wings in the entire rebel allince. I would say this b/c givin the lack of resources and the lack of territory, the rebels could not go mucle to mucle aginst the empire.

But i think you get my point, make allinces, make numbers, and make strategy, then i will do this. until then we are just gonna bable about who is more cool. ;)

But this will be fun.

LoL allrite then we can babble weither a lightsaber is feasable in our time line hahahah.

But yea lets assume that this is before the rebellion even got underway and that after the "GALAXIES WAR" (which is now being dubbed this conflict) it happend. And it wouldnt be the SW universe, think of this as the might goodie twoshoes Federation, vs. the new big baddie on the block.

Seing as the Empire I'm using controls pretty much the entire galaxy i will set it sometime between Episode III - IV (So i DONT get to use the Death Star [sniff what a pity, i would have liked to see Earth become an asteriod field])

Gimmie a few i need to prepare lol

I will assume that you are gonna support the SW, right? well, i guess, i will be spokes man for alpha.

The Things i would make numbers for are

Number Of troops under Empire Control (SW empire not klingon)

Number of ships

What types of ships

exct. any thing you are gonna use as an argument, put a number on it.

Well if you wanna put it that way then the problem is that SW empire has control over a greater number of planets (a greater "space" volume under their control) compared to the alpha quadrant put together with beta and gamma! So thats already an unfair advantage to pit an ant against a Borg.
