  1. I use a firewall that blocks any intruders, including those hourly checkups by comcast to see if I'm really online or whatever it's for. I don't do anything wrong, really..honest...I just don't like peepers in my PC anymore than I like my wife and kids putting our phone number on the internet for anyone to call our house offering to send us to Disney "for a small application fee". Yeah, and don't anyone mention the "Do Not Call" list, that only works when you don't tell people your phone number when signing up for some free spyware, thereby giving permission for at least one phone call. Wow, that's off topic. I never got any letters from comcast, but I'm certain they don't give a hoot until they recieve those emails. For anyone who wants to know, if the file names don't cantain the name of the entire contents, Like "Infringing FileName: [tmd]the.italian.job.(hairyhamster).dvdrip.(2of2).avi " but used "tij" instead, there would be no "Legal" way for anyone to intercept your file or look at it, much less cause too much suspicion. Sorry Nite, wasn't trying to share tips, but common sense goes a long way, you know. Nowadays, it would be like walking through downtown telling everyone you meet "Hi, I have unpaid parking tickets!", eventually you're gonna run into a meter-maid.
  2. This is a story I got in an email from SecurityProNews Today You can find the story on their site By Clicking Here. Looks to me like the MPAA are trying to get evidence because they have no case or a weak case on this one, if they don't win this one you know folks are gonna go HOG WILD BABY!
  3. It's cool, I have a firm grip on reality, the future is gonna be much like it is today, Gene Rodenberry had a good idea, but I don't see anyone jumping on that bandwagon. The second half of that sentence , as jaded as it sounds, is how I see things.
  4. I can argue both sides of this, but look where we are... If the Star Trek ideal were in place, everything would be done for everyone's betterment, entertainment even, so sharing the files would be perfectly alright, but being in such a money driven society like ours (capitalist?) doing that is stepping on toes because money is an emotional issue.

I always miss the fun stuff, oh, well, maybe next time.
  6. About 3 times with switch backs in between, so 5 if you count getting rid of stupid ones in favor of the one I have now....pretty nice, huh?
  7. Can't believe what I see
  8. How is all this working, I haven't heard much lately about the l@wsuit lately.
  9. Nothing to add, thats the first thing that cae to mind for me.
  10. I've been busy, yes, too busy for hanging out with my buds at niteshdw.com....it's an addiction, anyone who knows me from here knows I can't stop once I start, but here I am...now. The current line of thinking in this thread seems to say positive thinking or wishing good things for the opposition will solve the problem. I can't disagree with these idea(L)s, but a friend of mine taught me that sometimes not believing in something is just as powerful, like wishful thinking without burying your head in the sand. This is a bad example here, but he used to sweat getting pulled over all thetime and eventually got pulled over every week for 4 weeks straight, couldn't stop thinking about cops.... Finally, after alot of meditation on the subject, he decided that trafic cops didn't exist to him and blocked the idea from his mind on every occassion,. So now he no longer gets pulled over, 4 years later, until the other week when he was caught doing 130 in a 75 in New Mexico...he couldn't pass up breaking in a new Dodge Magnum. That works fo me in some situations, but like I said, you can't bury your head in the sand, but expecting good from evil often brings the desired results.
  11. This was the next logical step after Kirk kissed Ohura
  12. I.ve been busy awhile, but I'm back just in timw eh? I loved Enterprise, it took a bit for me to bother with it, after all, What would Scott Bakula Offer Star Trek fans... We, it was cool, and through it all, I prefered season 3, but the conclusion of season 4 was rushed but I don't think anyone was trying to sell some other Trek Generation, I think it was an easy way out.
  13. I liked the later seasons myself, after 7 of 9, but the reason is probably the same some didn't like it, things were pretty rushed
  14. Networks are making money of iTunes, but they could certainly put the brakes on that and do what OnDemand does for cable on the web. That's a little off topic, but in the same strain, I could see that if a show had some kind of "Hook" to keep people coming back for more, the ondemand society (instant gratification) would be exploited further. Psycologically speaking, this allows unsavvy/average schmoe users to participate in what they see as the hip internet. They can also participate in discussions and become more web involved/evolved this way. The people I'm speaking of don't use video editors or the like, so putting advertising, perhaps even some type of coding that includes fresh ads each time a movie or program starts (they already do this in porn each time it checks the license). I think I would rather see things in the hands of the Networks than companies like apple.
  15. I think I can either agree or cause pain on this, but my own beliefs may contradict themselves. First, I think thatpeoples personal privacy and similar rights should not be stepped on, like the fact that it's now legal for the gov't to spy (call it what you want) on those suspected of certain crimes, which haven't been clearly enough defined, suspected terrorists definately should be checked out, but only to the point of ruling them out or picking them up and trying/deporting them. The power they have right now is unexceptable because the officials doing the snooping can twist anything to look like suspected crime, not just terrorism. Next, we have to make it clear, with no doubts, that we will kill you if you are supporting or participating in terrorist activities...no loopholes. Bush used to be such a cowboy, but the congress has clipped his nuts I think, when he was governer he'd have just had terrorists shot on the spot before having to house, clothe or feed them. In the absense of respect, fear will have to do - Str82u. I don't mean that peace doesn't beget peace, but when a threat appears, eliminate it before it infects others. Finally, closing our borders isn't economic suicide, trade isn't affected by that, it just keeps people from physically entering/staying into the country illegally. Besides, trade sanctions on countries like Japan that have such discustingly huge trade deficits wouldn't break my heart. Yes, it would cost more to buy American on some things at first, but in this day and age we can produce cheaply also. And sure, we want to let in those persecuted or underprivileged, but illegal workers, piss on them. At this moment, I think, in some way, my point is that security and deplomacy don't work together. We don't have the right to impose our sensabilities (or lack of) on others, but "Don't Tread On Me" is certainly fair.
  16. Here's your bar with the bevel/embossing on it. I'm not sure if anyone want this one, but I'll leave t on my site for awhile for folks to grab it (just copy and paste to your pc), please don't hotlink it as it will vanish on you in the future. I think there are enough images in sigs and you all know where my heart lies, but I do love playing with photoshop, especially when someone else does the creative part first.
  17. The last game I played online was Star Wars someting or other, but it's not much fun playing the way they did. I'd like to get into some games though, just to use the PC for recreational purposes instead of pretending to work. Anything that's "Run, Jump and Shoot" would be good, someone let me know please.
  18. Since I derailed this train let's see if I can set 'er straight. What the intention was, we're all sure, is to keep someone from harassing someone else using email, and you can get an email acount anywhere and acccess it from any radioshack in the country. You get the idea, but it's the wording they should have straightened out. Actually, it's just a matter of eliminating anonymous harrasment. and all this can be found at the same place on This Page
  19. For now the one and only time in history I have had a ligitimate copy of an operating system and it's XP SP2. I found a hacked version of vista already and boy, don't ya now it's tempting, but can't say I'm willing to let go just yet.
  20. That was awesome. I held my lighter up through the whole chorus!
  21. Looks fine, But maybe I'm right on time as usual
