xalloutwarx
http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=star+trek&page=5&lv=0&so=0 has anyone else seen this? $1.99 per ep what ya think? worth it?
magestorm
Can we say frak no? $2 a bloody episode means at least $50 for a season's worth of episodes. And this doesn't even include any storage medium, or cases, or even extra features. Why should we have to pay $2 for that falgarcarb?
NiteShdw
I think you make a good point. It looks cheap per episode, but it costs nearly as much as just buying much higher quality DVDs.

They don't pay for all the manufacturing/distribution costs and they make almost 100% profit this way.
cptdrl
not worth the money
magestorm
Also, why would we want to pay $50 a season when a few days gets us the same shows, for FREE?!?! But, that's the greedy chimps in these organizations.
Mav
At 26 episodes a season, you're paying $52. You can use Amazon.com (for region 1 at least) to get the first three seasons of TNG/DS9 at $52.99 each. That's high quality dvd, with the cool cases, with all the extra features and stuff, for the same exact price...
magestorm
Exactly! For the price of video files that we can get ourselves for free, we can go get the uber cool case sets, with all the extras.
Tenebrae
Yeah - not really worth it. I mean, I'd rather go down the pub and get myself a pint than pay that kind of money.

Initially. Competition will drive down prices as ahppened with DVDs. Remember when shows cost $80 a season? Now it's down to about 30-40. I bet we'll see 25 cents an episode download by 2010. people and their video ipod's...they make me sick Rich people with too much money waste it foolishly. magestorm
Shoot. Not just them, but greedy corps trying to scam people out of a buck. I want my free tv shows, for fraks sake. If I wanted to spend money for them, I would go and BUY THE CASE SETS, and get them that way, instead of throwing away hard to earn money for a file that could get erased and have to replace WAY too easily. cyberbob
I had 4 episodes on my little 1Gspace/10Gbandwidth server and they ended up on Google Video...all of my bandwidth lost in 3 days... :-(
magestorm
Well, that's how the MPAA will ensure that you don't last long. Far easier for them to slurp your bandwidth to the point that you can't function than to frak around with suing you.

I rather spend my hard earned money on ale, whores, high quality dvds from amazon.com and manchester united merchandise. And I never liked Ipods. I can listen to mp3s on my p910i just fine... TFMF
I think this would be a good idea if you have missed like one or two eps - you could watch them with Google and it would be very cheap
gjnave
This would be the solution to a major jonzing session of Trek.... gotta watch an episode, but nothing on TV, your in Liberia, have chicken pox, and can't get to a movie rental store. :D Actually, in a pinch I'd pay. TFMF
Actually - i was just looking on Google Video - have the video's been removed? The turn up no results...
motoxjesse
Yeah i agree with TFMF, that would be a nice and easy way of compleating a season if your missing an episode or 2. But what kind of quality are they, think they'll have any of the movies? I'd pay a few bucks for a movie or 2.
TFMF
I'm not sure - it says that if you buy them it's high quality - i'd asume the quality would be as high as possible
