Baltar isn't a Cylon, I'd put money on that. If he was a deep sleeper agent, he would of had to have been put in place a *long long long* time before the attacks in order to gain a reputation of being Mr Smart Scientist Guy to have access to the defense mainframe. If so, they would of had to create a Cylon that could grow and age since any person who would get any sort of access to the mainframe, would have to undergo some sort of background check. If he was a fresh plant, that would of set off all kinds of alarms when the records about baltar only went back so far.

The idea that Baltar is a Cylon is patently false. Simply put' date=' if he really was a Cylon, then why would the Cylons need to have Caprica Six seduce him?[/quote']

If he is a deep sleeper agent (like Sharon was), then seduction would be necessary.

My thoughts exactly. The sleeper agents think they are humans (Sharon is a good example). Besides, we really don't know whether or not Baltar took part in the shutdown of the defense mainframe.

Exactly. Maybe he is the first model. The flawed one.

That's not entirely accurate. Sharon infiltrated the Colonial Fleet without arising suspicion and, as far as I can remember, she did have background information.

I dont think they'd check your background quite as much if you're joining the military, they wouldn't have to fabricate such an elaborate backstory then since it'd be a cursory glance.

For a highly sensitive post like the Defense Mainframe however, a very thorough and detailed check would be required, and unless the Cylons already had lots of agents in key places to falsify records, a Baltar-Cylon would have been found out.

But the thing is' date=' the Colonials only found about the new Cylon models (the human ones) after the attack against the twelve colonies. They had no reason to suspect Cylon infiltration prior to that.[/quote']

That's true, but I think they'd find it odd that when doing a background check all history of Baltar-Cylon only went back 1-2 years and nobody had heard of him before that, no birth records, no citizenship information, anything of that sort. To come up with a full history of him would be beyond the scope of what the Pre-'Hero' cylons were trying to accomplish, it would be far easier and simpler if they had Six seduce the Baltar-Human. Besides, if they had already infiltrated the Colonies to the point they could fabricate the complete background of Baltar-Cylon, they would of already been in control of enough to not have to have the Six Seduce Baltar plan to disable the defenses.

Her British accent and appeal makes me need to change pants after watching BSG.

Actually Mav it's a kiwi / New Zealand Accent...... and still sexy nonetheless :)

Wasn't baltar the one that created the cyclons in the original series. I can be wrong as my memories are all fuzy in my head and i watched the original BSG in italian.

From what i remember the Cylon's were created by a race of lizard type humanoids called the 'Cylon'. The became extinct after the Robots they created revolted against them.

The Current Battlestar seems to have taken a leaf from Asimov...

... Robots created by man turn on their en-slavers.

Anyway.. A much better epidose than the past few...

..and a great 'set-up' for the rest of the series.

Cylon vs cylon....human vs human :)

Do ya think 6 and Sharon will try to make it back to the fleet?

Or wait for Starbuck to come get them?

either way... you can see what will happen to Baltar..

...leader of his own Cylon fleet.

Eh I was close. She ain't a Newfie is she? Man I've heard some people from New Foundland speak before and despite how most speak "English" it's like it's only little subEnglish language...We're talking accents so thick and so much slang/shorthand words you can't make out simple sentences they say o_O

there are no torrents here. i'm sure you can use your search engine skills to find them.

Regarding Baltar, I got it. Ok so creating the background, records, etc of a Cylon Human model would be really difficult, what if, and bear with me, what if Baltar is a hybrid?

Think about it. We can assume that since Hera is a hybrid and born a baby she will either grow up at the pace of a human (they had the same gestation period, roughly) or slightly faster. If Baltar was a hybrid, he could have been placed with adopted parents and raised that way.

PLUS, this could explain for Caprica Six having to seduce him. He's a hyrbid that's a sleeper. He doesn't know he's half Cylon. Maybe the Cylons didn't know either or maybe they didn't want to reveal it yet. So Baltar thinking he is human, is seduced by Caprica Six, attack happens then flash forward roughly eight months (maybe more).

This could explain the weird connection Caprica Six and Baltar share. Pegasus Six was just, a fluke. She didn't kill him cause he showed her compassion and mercy where other humans raped her, beat her and wouldn't grant her death over ever-lasting-pain. So thats explained. But maybe hybrids can somehow share this weird mental connection with Cylons (or even other humans).

I doubt we'll learn in 2x19 or 2x20 but I'd guess we'll get alot more detail into it in season 3.

This is incorrect - at the end of the miniseries, Adama reads a "fax" message, presumably from HQ: "there are only 12 models". The info could we be pre-attack; hard to see how it could be post-attack.

I had always thought Baltar had slipped that note to him annonymously. But I'm just guessing.

I don't think Baltar is a cylon or was killed and resurected after the nuclear blast that destroyed his home. If you watch the miniseries you can see Baltar has an injury on his cheek just before he gets a seat on the raptor. I believe this was an injury he sustained as a result of his house being destroyed. A ressurected Baltar would have no injuries.

Granted, that if he was a ressurected cylon, he could have later got a cut on his cheek before he got on the raptor.

For one, Adama read a note that was printed on a piece of paper, folded and left in his quarters. Someone, most likely Sharon, left this in his quarters. Also, he recieved this note AFTER the attack on the twelve colonies. Therefore, they were not aware the cylons even had the capabilities they did. As far as they knew, the cylons were still the walking chrome toasters. Baltar even said so when Caprica Six revealed what she really was.

Man, Lucy Lawless (aka Xena) looks drop dead gorgeous in this latest BSG. What a babe.... It was nice seeing her again finally.

I thought this one was a great episode overall, and a nice improvement over some of the recent episodes. Nice twists in this one.... so many, it makes ya wonder what comes next, and what the frak is really going on.

Her British accent and appeal makes me need to change pants after watching BSG.

ashame they killed her of.. alas we'll see more of her in SE3!!! :)

the plot is really twisting well, man they really gona make me suffer in the wait for SE3...!!

This is a patently absurd notion. Cylons, being machines, would be far more efficient than that. They would cut out the middleman. If Baltar was a Cylon there would be absolutely no need for 6 to seduce him. There's no need to "seduce" sleeper agents. Sharon wasn't "seduced", she was merely "activated". I'm with Magestorm on this one.

In the original series, Baltar was a member of the Council of 12, who tried to broker a peace between the Cylons and the Colonies. However, his actual intent was to allow all the colonies, except his, to fall, and allow him to rule his colony under Cylon rule.

However, the Cylons broke their word, nuking ALL the colonies. They then held him, and was about to execute him. However, the Imperious Leader was killed, and the next Imperious Leader decided Baltar was a tool that still had use. He gave Baltar a Basestar and was told to hunt down the fleet.

Wow! What an excellent refresher! Thanks so much for taking the time to post all the above!

I saw the original BSG when it first aired on TV in 1978, and frankly, I could never recall such details like that anymore. Honestly, if I watched the first few episodes again, I'm not sure I could recall how it went down in such detail.

Well done...

If you ask me, I'd say Baltar and Six were killed by the nuclear explosion and, during the download of their consciences to their new bodies, there was some sort of malfunction due to the radiation, which caused the mix up. Interestingly enough, it seems that Caprica's Six (the good one) retained evil Baltar while Galactica's Baltar (the good one - OK, not so good...) retained evil Six. This sort of reminds me the ST:TOS episode The Enemy Within.

Damn man, that just gave me goosebumps reading it.... I think I may have to agree with that.

What else? Lucy Lawless... Damn, what a great job she's doing!

If I say anything else here about her, it would be seen as pornographic... :cyclops:

(needless to say, man what a great job she did, and is she ever looking HOT now...)

Does anyone think the President could be an "aged" version of the Lucy Lawless cylon model? They look and sound fairly similar' date=' even hair style, jaw-line, demeanor...that would be a nad twister![/quote']

Interesting question...

Maybe the President, turns out to be the #1 Cylon model, and Baltar, is #2 .

Or maybe everybody is a Cylon and when the series is over we find out everything is just a dream in the mind of Daggit.

Seriously, if the writers go the route of making any more of the major characters Cylons I'm going to be really pissed. Baltar's only an interesting character because he's human. Being a Cylon would just be too easy in explaining his actions and motivations.
