humans.... easier to kill....now if we had clone humans. there will be a infinite supply for soldiers (yes i support human cloning because it can be use for a greater cause)

Well begin the Clone Army on a remote planet in a system erased from the database. And make sure the have standard energy rifles.

*Insert Imperial March here*

Well, if you want to feed them, clothe them and generally spend money looking after them for 16-18 years (assuming no scifi accelerated growth) you can. I'd just recruit normal humans and stick them through a 9 month (Basic soldiers) to 2 year (officer/advanced specialist) training program. And believe me, I'd be able to get a lot larger army for the same cash outlay, and sooner.

actually im thinkin of using the DNA genes from the best german' date=' british, russian and american soldier that was a hero and last i heard. Adolf Hitler's DNA is impossible to find.[/quote']

Cloning heroes won't get you more of them........LOL!

Heroes are forged in the fires of battle.

Actually, humans are hard to kill. They think, adapt to change. My thoughts would be is to put all the drug addicts on the front lines. If they die, who cares.

Projectiles have the edge I think. True, energy weapons travel the speed of light and current projectiles are relatively slow. However, projectiles have mass and therefore can be fired at any relative speed (faster than light). Well...in a Star Trek world anyway. I would think an energy weapon would be limited to the speed of light. Wouldn't want to fire that at warp :cyclops:

Besides, with projectiles you can fool with three factors....velocity, mass and payload. That gives you lots of options. I.e. if you are shooting at a ship velocity and payload are likely key......if you are shooting a planet I would focus on mass :) B)

Energy or projectile...it seems Americans are favouring both at the moment...check this little nugget...

I actually felt sick when I read it...I've put up with news of Microwave bombs to disable electronics (say bye-bye to pace-makers, heart monitors, incubators, public transport) and mini-nukes (no more unsightly dismemberment) but this supposedly "pacifist" weapon is the absolute height of science going terribly wrong. Using a charming laser beam to explode a wave of plasma (SUPERHEATED GAS???) on a person to "pacify" them is to me deplorable. For one thing think of the excruciating burns, the shock to the nervous system (say bye-bye to granny or anyone with weak hearts)...we have water cannons, taser guns, tear gas etc but do we really need anti-pain research turned on its head like this? For all of you good Americans out there put a stop to it!! Before you and the rest of us suffer...

I know it's a rant but its on a weapons thread...why not...

Energy weapons...just for the chance to "stun" rather than kill and the Trekkie ones just make you sleep for a bit...better than Nytol... :p
