  1. Have you tried a proxy while at work? It might be a little slower but hey, if you can proxy to shoutcast.com thats all the radio-station style music you need right there.
  2. Does Art Bell still do his radio show on the bizarre stuff? Like aliens who are really zombies sent by our planets overlords through time portals that are controlled by Chuck Norris? Cause those were weird, some funny, but most weird o_O
  3. If you are refering to the one off the bsg section from the tracker site, i just watched it. if i had to guess, it's in slightly less quality and resolution. it's still great quality, but the resolution is slightly smaller (you can tell when the rating comes up for TV PG or whatever, half of it is cut off). It's still worth the dl.
  4. He's a moderator, the rules don't always extend to them. Why are you trying to stir up trouble?
  5. I think the UK is onpar with the US (they air it on Skyone right?). Though I may be wrong. I know Canada is way ahead in SGA and I'm pretty sure they at least got 2x11 the ending to the cliffhanger 2x10 (again dont quote me). If I knew a good BSG fansite that keeps up with which stations are up to what I'd check for ya
  6. Cool I'll try the 2005 one, from it's beginning. It's not so much I require a big "budget" for shows, it's just when it's something older when technology was limited plus a really low budget, the options are kinda limited. Like in TOS, other than the transporter effects the rest were subpar even for that time period, along side really cheesey budget problems like all aliens were off-shoot humans just a different color... Quantum Leap didn't do much in terms of effects or budget and it was a great show. Same with Sliders (minus the occasional cgi episode for stuff like dinosaurs), all their episodes revolved around the same city basically ;p But yea I'll check out the 05 Dr, thanks for the input
  7. I run the gamut of science fiction, to a degree. Some older stuff, I love (twilight zone, outer limits etc) whereas old Dr. Who or old BSG I cant get into. Stuff I've watched and loved; Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Babylon 5, all Star Trek, Farscape, Sliders, Stargate SG 1, Stargate Atlantis, new BSG, Sliders, Surface, Invasion, X-Files, Quantum Leap I can't pick a personal favorite from those cause I love'em all dearly. But those are the kinds of stuff I like. I know it's quite alot, but there are other shows I didnt enjoy. Old BSG, most of old TAS and TOS, Roswell, Space and Beyond, Earth 2, etc
  8. You could always count getting even more bald as a change of hairstyle ;) Offtopic note, its funny in the 24th century we can cure all kinds of stuff from cancer to diabetes but they didn't find anything to cure baldness? I know in Voyager, the Doctor "stimulates" 7of9's hair to grow out after she leaves the Borg, but maybe Picard was "too old"? Eh, nitpicking again, sorry janeway's hair in the last few seasons was great
  9. Correct, eztv does the easy part, the other people do the more riskier part. As for the seeders, if you get desperate being stuck at like 95% you can do what I do: watch it anyway. Say you are downloading a single episode rip, and the torrent is stuck at like 95% with no seeders. Use VLC to open the file and it'll play it despite it's not being complete. The missing 5% of the file, is usually small and insignificant (i've never had an episode that's missing a few %'s actually be missing key parts that are story important). It's kinda cheesey but you still get to watch it. Anything less than like 95% is too little for me personally, but like if it's at 98% and no one is seeding, I'll watch it anyway.
  10. based on this, can we change our vote? honestly, if they are going to be rotated, i'm all for mat's (sorry C4, yours is great but his is just slightly better)
  11. To help get around the whole "illegal to host torrent files for copywritten files" thing, EZTV simply links to torrent files, that are hosted on a different site. The rippers for EZTV to the ripping and encoding, make the torrent then let places like miniova or torrentspy do the actual hosting while they just link to them.

    Beta Quadrant

I had a poster once that kinda explained it; The four quadrants are set up in a square (I forget which is connected to which). Obviously Alpha being where most of the humonoid based Progenitor species are, Alpha leads into Gamma via the wormhole at DS9 but I'm not sure if they are just next to each other or the wormhole dips into space to cut a vast shortcut (some do some don't). Delta is on the other side of the galaxy. If I remember my scripts correctly, in TNG season 2 this is where Q sends the Enterprise D when they first encounter the Borg. Beta, is mentioned in the series. I know for a fact it was at least mentioned several times in Voyager, specifically in the whole Unimatrix 001 story arc. The romantic interest for Seven of Nine (forgive me I forget his name) turns out that while he enteracts with her in the unimatrix, his real world body is on a Borg ship/outpost, far off in the Beta Quadrant. I also think they mention the Beta Quadrant again in Voyager's Endgame episodes but don't quote me on that specific episode. I don't recall TNG ever mentioning the Beta Quadrant, nor DS9. Definitely not ENT. There are some good pictures of what the galaxy supposedly looks like on various fansites, I'm sure google will turn up some.
  13. there are tons my favorites are: opening with the captains log saying they gotta go to some diplomatic meeting or delegation, but on the way the ship encounters a wormhole/nebula/meteor/cloud that usually contains some new form of life usually made of energy or a variation there of. they are going somewhere to rescue some people or someone and when they get there among those or with those is someone that is rooted amongst one of the crew's past, a unspoken brother, or an ex wife or someone that knew someones pareents. it always leads to tension and uneasyness with the person they know on the crew and is usually resolved by episodes end
  14. 8pm EST - Stargate SG-1 2x11 - Sci Fi channel 9pm EST - Stargate Atlantis 2x11 - Sci Fi channel 10pm EST - Battlestar Galactica 2x11 - Sci Fi channel
  15. i cant recall the name but it's definitely a sean connery one, at some point he and the hot chick of the movie, end up in this bubble float thing, on the surface of the ocean. and while i didnt care for brosnan, golden eye was the first real bond movie i ever watch beginning to finish
  16. Oh you can bet new episodes will appear here. If it's science fiction you'll eventually grab a nice quality copy from nite's torrent site. Oh and if your cable provider doesn't have Sci Fi and you're in America (like theavnq) then first call up your cable provider (ask to speak to a managre or someone higher up) and inquire why its not there and ask that it be provided for you. If they fail to do so, then simply discontinue service with them and change. While satelite might not suit everyone, it's just as inexpensive as regular cable and you can get the same channels, or go with something like Tivo. All those should be avaible in MI and within the same price range as you are currently paying.
  17. Starting at 8am (right about now) the Sci Fi channel will be airing all of season 2 so far aired in America (and other places that recieve this channel), that being 2x1 through 2x10. It runs all day back to back. If you missed some episodes or didn't get around to downloading them now is a great time to play catch up, if you can. Tommorrow night at 10pm EST, on the same channel, 2x11 airs right after the new episodes of Stargate SG1 and Atlantis.
  18. I think some channel (maybe SciFi but I doubt it) like A&E did a show a bunch of years back on bloopers, maybe someone taped it or it was released on vhs/dvd. Heh, one of the best ones was Johnathan Frakes is to thank for alot of the terms we use now cause in early TNG when his character William Riker had to say something real technical alot of times he'd forget or couldn't pronounce it correctly so he'd improve/ad lib in a few words instead. So you had Gene coming up with all these official terms and terminology for the stuff and Frakes kinda winged his way through it. I forget which words exactly but some are quite memorable, others are just seldom heard ones.
  19. Well at least it's not that bad. I remember when I was getting into Trek in general, TNG was coming towards a close and a few years later Generations came out. Anyway they had a few games based off that movie and I got the version for the original Gameboy. I think that was the worst Star Trek ever created. I'd seen Apple II games with more depth and playability ;p
  20. Please forgive me if this plot hole/blooper/goof has been noted before, I am unaware of it being mentioned before. So I was watching The Next Generation season 2, and I got to episode ten entitled "The Dauphin" (quick summary, it has the two shape shifting women, one of whom is young and destined to be a peace maker whom falls in love with Wesley). Anyways in beginning of the episode before the theme even plays, Wesley comes out of the Turbo Lift and encounters this girl. She comments on something he has in his hands: note, I left the screen caps their normal size so we can tell them apart I circled the device in his hand. The young lady says it is a "super conducting magnet". Sounds normal enough for the show right? Then I immediately thought "Wait a second, Voyager ripped that off". And I was right. Apon Wikiing Star Trek Voyager, I stumbled apon my answer. Season 1, episode ten entitled "Prime Factors", Ensign Kim among other crew find a device on an alien world that will allow them to literally travel 30,000+ light years in one basic jump. The device in question, was a "spatial trajector". Now there is some room for doubt cause in the Wesley picture, he's holding it at a side angle. BUT if you actually can view this episode, you can see when he moves (walks) and such, the device is identical to the one used in Voyager. Obviously it's a simple prop goof, like so many in the entire multple series run. I found it amusing cause I spotted it right away. Figure some people might get a little laugh out of it.
  21. If he wasn't Vulcan, sure. But at his stage in life I doubt he'd need to watch it for obvious reasons like studying humans or humanity's past, thus he'd have no reason at that point to watch it. Ironically though that's the simplest and most probable explaination, if there was one.
  22. the best parody of all time, is The Ultimate Showdown ;)
