  1. The best place to find it, if ever, would be the gateworld forums, but they don't allow piracy ;( Won't likely find it on mainstream torrent sites either

    Who is hottest?

Tapping is nice but just not big on blondes. Now Claudia Black on the other hand ;)
  3. Oh and, the 11th, is a Wednesday ;p hehe
  4. Sov, update the first post: The Sci Fi channel here in America, will have 2x11 of SG-1 SG-A (and BSG) on Janurary 6th (not this Friday but next Friday). A week before the 11th ;) Thank god too, I need a fresh dose of all three.
  5. well you could always emulate windows and ie if you really needed to use an IE only site though in the future they'll become less of an issue, big name companies (for official things like online banking) aren't going to limit you to a first party browser, that'd just kinda help reinforce MS's "monopoly" thing.
  6. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/285267 Well, it is science fiction related ;p Trust me you'll at least smile at it, if not laugh outright. Now if I could just get that damn song out of my head
  7. I can't say I've never been ashamed in relation to Trek. I've never been ashamed because I enjoy Trek. I've been ashamed at others for their closed minded opinions. If you've ever had people burst out laughing when you bring up the fact you like Star Trek then you understand what I mean. It's not so much being ashamed you're a fan but just at how other people are not tolerant of what you like. When it's ok to stand around the water cooler at work and discuss the latest episode of American Survivor Idol Teen Hogan Amazing Island Race season 19, but not ok to discuss the last episodes of Enterprise then you know there's some intolerances going on. It's almost like a racial issue. Most times it's not nearly as severe as racial hate or persecution but there are times where people just, I don't know, "take it too far". The constant laughing cause you like Trek, like we're back in grade school on the play ground. The stupid little jokes thrown here and there. And ya know, I could almost understand it if you know the average Trek fan was the more involved fan whom dressed up in uniform or makeup. But the average fan is just that, an average fan. We come home from work and school, we turn on tv or pop in a dvd/vhs tape and just enjoy some tv. Nah, I've never been ashamed for loving Trek. I have been ashamed to be human before.
  8. I got Buffy season 2 and Angel season 2 and around $50 USD cash
  9. "No, ZOD" I couldn't resist ;p sorry
  10. While I own season 1 on dvd, I have no dvd rom drive on my pc. So i watch'em on my tv as normal. I'm starting a blog, basically about sci fi, gaming, etc and the name of it is The Hangar Bay. The perfect header image, is probably one of the few glimpses we get of the hangar bay onboard the Galactica, where it's empty (usually late at night, or early morning before the knuckle draggers start the clock). It doesn't have to be a huge resolution (around 600x400 will do), prefered good quality. I'm hoping someone who's got S1 or S2.1-2.10 on their HDD from the torrents can use VLC and snag me a few snapshots of this then just dcc them to me in irc or host them long enough for me to save them. I tried googling but the few ones I found always were just close ups of the Viper Mark II's from the Mini usually with a pilot in the cockpit and the viper already in the launch tube with very little background shot of the actual hangar bay. Someone will be a life saver if they can help me with this
  11. for those of us that didnt see it can we get a link to it? (pm will be fine if Nite doesnt want it shown or linked publically)
  12. In the new BSG series, it kicks off having been over 40 years since humans have even seen a Cylon. Our ambassador still sits waiting to meet and possibly talk peace, as we saw in the Mini Series right? But all through season 1 (and a few in season 2) they make these little references to thing's in the past. In the episode, The Hand of God, when Apollo is awake and nervous before the mission he talks with his father. Before his father gives him his grandfathers lighter for good luck, Commander Adama makes a comment about the Viper Mark II (they were in the hangar bay). "Mark II. Good ship. Got me out of alot of tough scrapes." We know C. Adama was a pilot before he moved up the ranks of the Colonial Fleet. We assume Apollo is in his mid-to-late 20's, his father can't be much older than his late 40's early 50's. 40 years ago, we'll take a guess and say he was 18 or close to it (Making him roughyl 58 now, which I doubt). Now based on his current appearance, I think it's safe to say Adama, isn't almost 60 years old. He looks old, in his facial features, but unless he had Zak and Lee when he was around 35..I mean let's not forget in Kobol's Last Gleaming he is boxing (sparing) with Lee. Not fake stuff either a full on spar match. Maybe it's just me but I can't see someone like Lee willing to hit a man in his 60s' The point of that example is, what kind of action did Commander Adama see in the last 40 years? I highly doubt in those 40 year's he fought Cylons. It's confirmed we have not seen them in 40 years, and safe to say Adama isn't that old. Plus I doubt the Colonial Fleet recruits at 16 or younger (I'd guess 18). So unless some routine missions or something went wrong, maybe a flying accident, he saw no war-time action. We know the Viper that Adama flew was old and used. Chief even mentions in the Mini Series how they found it just laying around an old junkyard. But it obviously wasn't used for combat, and the wear n tear was just age. Also 40 year's is a large number. The Mini Series showed how, by 40 years the average human was putting the war behind them and most Battlestars were being decommisioned for various reasons right? Yet the military personal all still trained and stayed alert as if any moment the Cylons could show up. Obviously the Cylons did show up and it was obviously a good thing the Colonial Fleet had the training to handle it (yea they got wiped out but the element of surprise was aganist them). The point is, don't you think after 20 some years they woulda, I dunno, relaxed a little? It just seems odd that an entire race (humans) would go 40 years living their lives in such a way. I wouldn't say they lived in "Fear" but definitely over cautious. Yes, again the Cylons did eventually stage their stealth attack, but it just always seemed odd that way. And another thing is, all the nuclear devices don't emitte EMP's? Think about it. The Viper Mark VII's were taken down, easily cause it was simple just to auto power them all down since their systems were all interlinked. Whereas like Galactica, the Mark II's have their systems not networked right? So why make something like the Mark VII? If Galactica's technology was a proven defense, as well as the Mark II's, why go create something that can be taken over? Which at the same time relates to the EMP. I'm not saying the cylons used EMP's aganist the Mark VII's but when you saw how they could just infect a Mark VII's systems, you had to think for a moment. I mean Galactica's been hit dead on by a nuke before, with little to no consequence. Where's the EMP? I got offtopic some but there are other examples in season 1 of people talking about past experience in combat, yet either they didnt appear to be around back then or they simply weren't old enough. 13. 1.5 is pretty nice so far. It runs slightly faster than 1.0.7 (last official version). Can't say I like the new GUI menu's, they kinda have the default Windows XP look to them (kinda flat looking with no border). But that's just a small nitpick I can live with. And I was amazed at how most of my extensions still worked, nice to see the developers of the one's I use kept up to date with 1.5 (probably since the first public beta of it). Still waiting for a few more extensions to be ported to 1.5. Oh and if you are worried about losing your bookmarks (or other settings) grab this extension: Bookmark Backup. You can choose a directory, and every time you close Firefox, it automatically will save a backup of just about anything you tell it too. It'll do bookmarks, your GUI setup, preferences, history, cookies, whatever. Very handy feature, just incase. I know I have a more-than-average number of bookmarks and having to re-enter them all would be a pain heh..

They are serial's I've saved over the years, to games. They are verified, working serials that allow for online play in several games (meaning they aren't just random keygen'ed ones). They have quite a value as most of the games they are for still retail for over $20 each and are often sought after (though I save them for my personal use).

still no luck getting this to work :( of all the times i've changed extensions on something this is the first to have it screw up on me. of course it has to happen on a file that has cd keys I really need
  16. Two things, 1) awesome find ;o much better than I've come up with. 2) most of those are horrid quality (no offense). The few I found, were direct CD rips. Most of those seem to just be audience recordings from various shows. On the upside you can easily piece together all 3 of their albums from that site, the downside is their quality is awful (compared to a direct CD rip)
  17. http://www.niteshdw.com/torrents-details.php?id=3309 is what IT is And for the record, it wasn't meant to be "dramatic" or anything as the such. And I even pointed out it's something people may thing is stupid, and something others may treasure. It is rare I can say that cause very few (and I mean few) places have copies of this. Basically the only way to get the whole collection (3 cd's+) is to purchase them.
  18. I've been hunting for something for sometime. Not Indiana Jones style where I've dedicated tons of years of my life to it. More like occasionally I'll look for it when it crosses my mind or I see something that reminds me of it. I don't want to spoil it just yet, as to what "it" is, cause while I know some will simply scoff at it and hate it others would love it. It's definitely something Trek related (all series). It's something extremely hard to find, via your usually illegal means (BT, Fserve, Newsgroups etc) as it's really not something in popular demand. I've pretty much exhausted Google on this, and hit up every major and minor BT site I know of that might even remotely have it. I found what I was looking for. Well, almost 1/2 of it anyways. And I found it, laughably, in one place I've looked at least half a dozen times in the past and never got lucky before. Well I did tonight. The dilemma is this, while I still would love to keep hunting for the other 1/2 of what "it" is, that doesn't seem to have a feasible ending at this point. I'm used to hunting obscure stuff through BT and IRC bots, done it for years but this is a very niche set of things that would even have a hard place fitting in around here (even so I think some will enjoy it). While Google has helped a little, as said I've personally googled it till I can't google it no more ;o So what do I do? Do I keep searching, for the other 1/2 of this, in hopes of getting it complete, first? Do I belly up what I think is something great, but only 1/2 complete? To put some things at ease; it's not something that will be ruined or spoiled by only having 1/2. It won't be a movie or episode or something that's going to cut out on you. So keep that in mind when helping me make a choice. Also keep in mind a few things; While I know this is obscure, I can't 100% tell who has it and who doesn't. For all I know 1 or 100 people that frequent Nite's awesome place here, already have this but never thought to share it (so if I do give it out I don't get verbally beaten to death cause it's been out already). And also, I've never created a torrent myself. I can easily seed it, it'll be somewhat smallish (about 18 MB), but I've never created a torrent. Personally I use uTorrent (thanks to Nite for recommending it) which I'm not sure if it has a Creation option like some other clients have. So please, do post what you think. I know, alot of what I've said is very vague and could be or mean anything. But it's no scam or hoax or something stupid, I legitmately think this is something some Trek fans will enjoy, I personally love it myself. - Mav *Edit* Those that saw a brief mention of what "it" is in IRC, please don't spoil it yet.. As said I wanna get a kinda group opinion on the subject of release what ya got versus getting it complete, first
  19. my current one http://home.carolina.rr.com/fanboy/desktop.jpg I basically just use that one (only one I could find off google after a reformat). Anyways it's the best picture of Serenity there is (high quality screen cap), in my opinion

    this file lost?

I know this sounds kind of obvious, but have you tried renaming with an .xls extension instead?. Maybe you did it in excel or some other program and convinced your self otherwise (I know this could happen to me). Also, the symbols you are indicating would occur if you rename an .xls to .txt if I recall properly. Absolutely completely 100% positive I did it in Notepad as .txt MS Excel, would require MS Office which I have never installed, even in the past. I always stuck to Notepad and Wordpad for any text editing needs I had.

same thing, even if i use binary or ascii download using WS FTP
  24. i know some things belong in some forums but Nite doesnt seem to have a generic "tech" subforum, so I'll ask here and hope its ok. i had to reformat a few weeks ago, not much of a problem. before i had to reformat, we'll say a few weeks before, I managed to take several sets of, cd keys I had for various things, and place them in a .txt file I think randomly named the file, and changed it to something obscure that you wouldnt think to look for, so it was named s8398se.mov or something similar. Normally in the past, you could just rename it back to .txt and everything is ok. Well, now it's not ok. This .mov was on my personal ftp, small small file so it wasnt taking space. It was in it's on directory, that could not be viewed pubically, so I know no one accessed it via http. When I download the .mov now off my ftp, and rename it .txt all the text, which was normal text before, is in a bunch of ASCII jumbled letters and words. I've tried re dling it, opening it in word, notepad, you name it. It's not like a huge, loss to not have these, but for a simple matter of convience, I'd like to get them back. Figured some of us geeks might know. Thnx in advance.
