  1. If they can't keep a good grip on their controllers, they've got nobody to blame but themselves when things go ... wrong. -_-' It's not Nintendo's fault people don't know how to hold a friggin' remote! >_< As for the 'hackers making use of the Wii-mote'... well, it's nice that someone's made a driver for the Wiimote. From the sounds of things, it was pretty much trivial to do... probably just a standard HID device driver tweaked to acknowledge Wii-specific messages.
  2. I second that. Not only does it not help very much, but the overhead and system slowdown of having several programs scan every single file you open is disgusting. (Psst... how's the Bond nudification program going, TFMF? ... 'anti-spywear'. Just get one of those 'one per episode' female side kicks to do the job. ;))
  3. Nothing like smacking someone with exactly the same scam they were pulling on you while they were pulling it! That takes skill.
  4. Heh... no worries for me, then. My passwords for important stuff tend to be 12 character alphanumeric mixed case slime. Sure, I've got them written down... but in a cypher I made up when I was a kid. Paranoid? Maybe... but I doubt I have much to worry about security. ^^
  5. Heh... such a varied amount of motion that touchscreen would require would mean carpal tunnel syndrome would probably go away, for the most part. Of course, there's still the matter of the keyboard... there is no more efficient way of entering text than a good keyboard, whether it's a physical one or one floating on the touchscreen. XD
  6. From the sparks, I'd say that the TARDIS isn't built for that sort of flying... ^^ Looks good to me so far. ^^
  7. Radio host asks his listeners if crescent shaped tattoos and armbands for Muslims is a good idea. The results... were disturbing.
  8. Because you weren't expecting it... The Segata Sanshiro commercials (for the Sega Saturn) - Xmas Sega Saturn ad - Sonic R - Saturn Bomberman Fighter (?) - Sega Saturn general ad - Solo Crisis - Greatest Nine '98 - Sakura Wars 2 - some sort of soccer RPG Commercial 9 - Shining Force III - Panzer Dragon Saga - Burning Rangers - Winter Heat - House of the Dead - Deep Fear - Wachen Röder - some sort of soccer game - some sort of baseball game dedicated to a very good Japanese baseball player. - Dragon Force II - ??? - A final recap ad? Only in Japan. :P "Segata Sanshiro, Segata Sanshiro, Segataaaa San... shiro!" ... those commercials rock. (especially the third one. ^^) Edit: Yeah, I could have put it in 'Internet Video Fun' with all the other videos... but Segata-san deserves better than that! ;)
  9. Final Fantasy V was the most fun one, imho... and it just went downhill from there from a complex gameplay point of view. It's class system was wonderful. It's story was interesting, too... when's the last time you played a game where the bad guy was a sentient tree that became a powerful sorcerer demon after being used to seal away one too many evil spirits? XD Plus, it's been rereleased on the GBA with four extra classes and a bonus dungeon, if you have a GBA / DS and want to try it. ^^
  10. Being a technomancer, useless in fights? Some of the greatest supervillains ever made were mechanical geniuses... but I guess it isn't flashy enough to base a superhero on (well, except for Iron Man, of course. ^^) I dunno about the 'innate resistance to what they're able to do' thing. The cop seems VERY badly suited to controlling his power, and you can see what Sylar's did to him... I guess it's just that those that have powers they can't control well or that have bad side effects typically end up becoming supervillains in conventional comics terms. And it's true... given that super type settings are really modern fantasy, they can do things with no scientific explanation given or necessary except in the vaguest senses.
  11. Well, the latest episode gives the scoop on Sylar (Gabriel Sylar, that is... or Mr. Grey?), and Jessica for those that were curious about it, plus the fate of Hiro's waitress saving expedition... definitely a great episode with a lot of stuff packed into it. I still have to say this is the best TV show I've seen in ages, if not in memory.
  12. Hmm... this episode has the laziest, most meandering plot I've seen, with story elements dancing around dodging each other... but when they finally connected, it was great. That very dodging of getting to the point until later is an interesting technique all on it's own and rather refreshing, imho. Well, well... Jack's got an empty head? XD Edit: As for 'Suzie'... well, they probably supplied a nicely doctored body to the family, which makes me wonder... If any Torchwood personnel die, will they get similar substitution and 'archival'?
  13. Oh? Since when has love put everyone in Torchwood in danger? *cough* Ianto *cough*... What's probably going to happen is 1) some heartfelt exchange between Gwen and what's-his-name'll happen, and they'll be closer than ever, 2) they'll break up, or 3) what's-his-name will die. In any case, the Gwen/Owen thing will probably not last. He's too much of an arse. ;)
  14. Yup... I was wondering if they were going to go for the 'humans can be just as bad as / worse than aliens' bit, and here it is. It was fairly well done even though it was obvious what was going to happen. The 'isolated villagers have cannibal ritual' isn't exactly a new story... it's shown up dozens of times in movies, TV, and books. This kick at the cat was well done, though, and definitely not as tame as the majority of reiterations of this theme. The only bit of suspense I found in this episode was whether the bad guys were humans or aliens. I expected aliens (given the theme of the show), but humans worked well. As for the Gwen / Owen thing... I was expecting Gwen to have issues living her relatively normal home life, but... with Owen? Well, he really is the only one of 'em. Ianto's got the Lisa thing, and Jack's, well... Jack.
  15. Bleah... as if there isn't enough flight-impeding garbage in orbit. -_-' Then again, maybe they'll be lucky and it'll hit some space debris and knock it out of orbit. ^^
  16. Actually, as far as the Q situation was concerned, I think Janeway's choice was obvious. Q is capricious... there was no guarantee that he would keep his promise even if Janeway DID have a kid with him.
  17. 8/10 due to the nice variety of elements and cute links. Would have been 9, but for the BorisP invitation. XD Do you REALLY want him to come back? ;p
  18. I don't suppose you could give a YouTube link to that ad? Even better... maybe mention what it's advertising, because searching for "Kirk Shatner Ad" understandably throws up tons of stuff...
  19. My favorite computer is the one I'm currently using, purely for performance reasons. Newer computer = greater processing power = gets more stuff done quickly... as long as it's not laden down with a horribly inept operating system. >_
  20. Yeah, if it was on an hour or half hour at a weird time of day, then it's probably a scheduled defrag. Go to Control Panel / Scheduled Tasks and see if a defrag's in there somewhere. If not... it could be more complicated to figure out. ^^'
  21. *written while watching it...* Well... it looks like they DID forgive Ianto for causing the deaths of two people and risking the entire world. Ianto: "I won't do it again, honest!" Jack: "Durrr... oookaaaay." ;p... ah, well. I guess they've got a three strike rule for risking world-wide disasters. XD What I find that's nice about this episode is that they're portraying fairies as they were in legends (i.e. playful and dangerous at best, malevolent and dangerous at worst.) Hmmm... I guess Jack ended up back on Earth quite a long time before the 20th century after surviving the Dalek attack... "OLD FOREST ROAD" ... daant, daant, DAAHN! As for Jack's decision... what else could he do? The girl was hopelessly tainted, and that was the best alternative of a bunch of bad options. The entire world or one little girl? Not a nice choice, but an unavoidable one. This episode definitely makes up for #2 and much of #4, and the preview looks great. ^^
  22. in HELL! XD ... sorry, couldn't resist that. ^^ Anyways, anything that can prod the curiosity of people who really should be curious without external help is good. ^^
