Most likely, when populations get out of hand in the future, they'll probably have enforced sterility by lottery, or some other fair means to ensure population control... and that would add a whole slew of new social issues to contend with... and frankly, sexual preference would have no impact on this, as people could always sell their semen / eggs... See? Still not a gender preference issue, but an economic one. Also, since people won't willingly give up sex, sterilization may be the only option other than starvation or disease -_-'... Anyways, in a society like that of Star Trek, where beings of different species are having children, would homosexuality really be any issue at all? Also, it's only after monotheistic religions like Christianity popped up that homosexuality was truly castigated in our own history... In some ancient Greek city-states, not only was homosexuality common, but between 'beared older men' and 'younger beardless youths'! Zeus had a pretty young candlebearer, didn't he...? Besides, even without population pressure, homosexuality is a wonderful form of birth control. It should be encouraged, since such a harmless lifestyle choice as homosexuality is far better than having our descendants killed off by starvation and disease from overcrowding, or having to live with forced sterilization -_-'... Now, to just to convince people to not marry or have kids until they're 30...

Maybe this 'doctor' isn't the doctor at all! Maybe... he's the Master! WooOooooOoh! ... heh. maybe the 'Bad Wolf' is someone or something that engineered the war and mutual annihilation of the Time Lords and the Daleks, and is now following along behind the Doctor, leaving 'bad wolf' influences as he observes... as a sort of personal tag? I don't know... but I find it strange that the Daleks and Time Lords would be able to wipe each other out so completely. These guys control time, after all... how can you wipe out something that travels throughout time without literally removing them from time? ... maybe this 'Bad Wolf' wanted the Daleks and Time Lords out of the way... and used the Doctor as a tool to do so? When one has a good tool, one doesn't just throw it away, after all... and something that could engineer the destruction of the Time Lords AND the Daleks must have a lot of tricks up his/her/its sleeves... I'm really curious about how this is going to go ^^... RTD is a VERY good writer.

Energy Weapon Pros: - You can blast someone's arm off without them dying of blood loss... good for interrogations. (Cauterization is great ^^) - Their only ammo is energy... no need to carry around bulky ammo belts. - No recoil! Aiming is easy. - Depending on output setting, can be useful for other things (cooking food, laser pointer, etc.) Energy Weapon Cons: - Depending on the energy weapon, it can be deflected relatively simply with mirrors, magnetic fields, etc. - You may need to carry around bulky battery belts or a backpack generator. - Need special facilities and tools to repair electronics if damaged. If you're out on the field, good luck fixing your gun. Projectile Weapon Pros: - Weapon shoots small hard things at VERY quick speeds. Forget magnetic fields or mirrors... you need ARMOR to block this stuff, and thick if it's particularly heavy or fast. - Relatively simple to make ammo for. Just need the proper chemicals, casings, and tips, and voila! - No electronics to short out or get knocked out by Electromagnetic Pulses. Projectile Weapon Cons: - Gotta carry all that ammo -_-' - impact shock can kill target... bad if you want them alive. - If you can't make more bullets, you've got a small metal club. - Useless in high gravity situations... unless you like to pepper the floor with lead ^^' Choose the weapon for the scenario, basically. If you're in a misty swamp, lazer rifles are probably a really bad idea, for instance ^^
