For real! ;D The Borg got it right. Their efficient shape sort of mirrors their attitude towards things, though.

That's a real shame, man. I LOVED Enterprise S3. I'm currently in my second time watching it through. different strokes for different folks i guess. As far as this thread goes, I like the idea. I just don't know if a 7-season commitment is really a good idea right now. Not in the current climate of television or the current state of Trek, anyway.

Has anyone ever gotten the trek gem that is Captain's Chair to work properly in WinXP sp2? A lot of people had a dynamic memory problem. I got past that one. Now, the game simply exits after you select a ship to tour. No compatibility modes seem to be working. Any suggestions?

Teamspeak and Ventrilo are both great. Here's my personal advantages and disadvantages of both: PROS TS: Free. Hosting your own is easy. Unlimited number of connections. VENT: MUCH better sound quality. Easier to use. CONS TS: Mediocre sound quality. Confusing admin interface. VENT: Only up to 8 connections on free version.

Ya, it's nice to find something to fill the void left by the current absence of Star Trek!

Oh Nite I have forsaken thee. Sorry I haven't been around in a while guys. Love the new site!

Well, they had Ensign Crusher for a while (until Wil Wheaton thought he could 'do better'). I never liked him anyway.

Honestly, I never thought that George Takei was a homosexual until watching the Shatner Roast. Good for him for not being ashamed, though. He's a funny man!

I was an active member of these forums a while back, mainly when this new Doctor Who series was first starting out. I had no interest in it back then, thinking it was a little too corny. My fiance suggested I try it and I cannot stop watching it. Now that I realize the series doesn't take itself completely seriously, I see it in a whole different light. I am very impressed by the series and it is not at all what I expected. Doctor Who has become one of my favorite shows. ;D

do you become smart or are you born smart? i think he's smart no matter what. obviously you haven't seen bushes press reports... lol the man defies the laws of evolution!!!! :) That's what we get for voting in a talking head instead of someone with their own ideas. (not that I voted for him :P )

Yay! I've been watching for 16 years. Weird to think I've only been alive for half of it.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/SHOWBIZ/TV/09/06/star.trek.40/index.html This article slams the TOS revamp, saying that this show is so old that it is not relevant. Not to mention, Shatner and Nimoy's comments at a recent convention were taken way out of context. The article makes no mention of the genius of any other Trek series, except for Enterprise, which they imply killed the franchise. I'm so angry at CNN right now.

I had an older beta of Vista, before they implemented the 3D desktop. I really wasn't impressed. But, I'm sure they've made a lot of improvements. The way I see it, I have no problem with XP Pro. It's stable, easy to install, and it doesn't hog resources. (never thought I would've said that last one 5 years ago...)

Wow, lucky you. I tried for hours and was only able to get the game to run at a 'passable' level. Which is strange because every other game I have built on the same engine runs clean and smoothe. As horrible as it sounds, I had to install a fixed EXE just to get the game to run. Maybe it was a video driver compatibility issue.

Surprised no one suggested Armada I/II. I'm getting excited for Star Trek: Legacy, personally. My fav strategy games are Age of Empires I/II and Rise of Nations.

Be careful with this one. EF2 pushed the Quake 3 engine to its limits to the point that the game is often quite unstable. Anyone alse have stability issues? Maybe it's the fact that I'm running a graphics card a hundred times more powerful than the developers had planned for...

Not yet. I LOVE Rise of Nations, though. Legends pretty good?

Steven Hawking seems to think so. If Stevie says so, you know it's true. Recently, he urged listeners in Japan to advocate extraterrestrial settlements.
