Unfortunately, I have one of those goldfish memories: 2 weeks of ad campaigns: "Don't forget to vote" Day of election: Tal goes about business as usual 2 Weeks later: So-and-so is now premiere of Queensland Tal: hey what? That said, it really is a waste, when none of them do what they have said they would do before we elected the idiots!! I know i will vote for the MP who will tax me into poverty, and let me starve to death. I was going to say it would be cheaper to just die!! However they have got you, if you try to get out that way Too!! ( Death duty ) Yes we even get taxed after we die! Still when your dead you dont have to think about it. Ulysses Posted October 19, 2005 Share Posted October 19, 2005 I dont normally vote now, mainly because dont matter who gets in power here in the uk, politicians always end up breaking promices, but when i do vote (which is rare) is its always labour (socialist's) as I did agree with them banning hunting foxs with dogs and also introducing tuition fees for students at uni. Plus i cant stand the conservatives who are just hell bent on cutting services to give out tax cuts and there yippy image. (pimms dear olde giles). I would even vote for the greens or to the comunist but there aren't any of those either. Of course there are some parties who would indentify themselves as democrats but it's totally bulls**t. And because most of the people are uneducated and really very poor in my country they don't really understand anything. If one politician comes and talks religiously he is the best even he says " We will change the ideology of this country and destroy democracy...." This is why hate democracy. I think that the answer would be...we are responsible for this, i bet if you go back far enough, we wouldnt have been, but in the past few centuries the amount of advancement has been profound, and most likely our actions have had a giant effect. Humans stop using hair spray, and swiching off fossil fules is not gonna change any thing... and wasn't it in the 80's that the SAME people who are freaking out about Global warming, freaked out about global cooling?? I'll be sober; so, my party will get in. ;) I think global warming is being caused by being humans, but the question is, is this a good thing or a bad thing?
