maxg1984 Posted March 6, 2006 Share Posted March 6, 2006 i certainly did not stop. im far from usa, thank god! ive to download some stuff because 1) they re available here, but its far too expensive for me 2) its not available, and ive no other source. yeap, if i had enough money and if it were available i would buy everything on dvd!!! if organizations like mpaa gain more power, they will sooner or later sue us for not paying the air we breathe. C'mon!!! we re not making ourselves rich from this!!!! we dont mean to steal anything!!! on the other side, they re the only ones who makes serious profits. so if i lived in usa and my mom caught on video tape some tv program and then shared it with a neighbour she could be sued???? it looks like usa citizens re living a nightmare!!!! land of freedom??? yeap..... this situation reminds me what is happening in africa. big usa drug corporations (who ve made thousands millon dollars for selling very expensive drugs) sued poor countries for buying generic medicines (which re intented to poor people with aids). to sum up, they prefer to defend their huge profits and let die millons... the fact is corporations (in usa and in the rest of the world) re gaining power (economically and politically). the support our "presidents" campaings. so they re starting to think laws and freedom belongs not to everyone but only for the ones that can affort it. the whole awful truth its longer and sadder.... i prefer not to talk about it finally i wish the best for nite. if he goes to trial, i hope the court judge is fair enough as well as the jury.... i dont know him personally, but im pretty sure hes not a criminal, as mpaa wants us to believe!! be strong nite!!! and thanks for this site!! ive really enjoyed it!!!! stuart85dj Posted March 7, 2006 Share Posted March 7, 2006 i still download the same old stuff when it is available on sky it then recorded to dvd anyway so whats the difference i use the sky by broadband service in the uk and download movies thats all part of my service i get which i pay for the files that are downloaded are protected and last for 30 days but i can get some stuff a month or so before it is aired on sky movies. i am still paying for what i watch and if i download it so i can see it six months early what the hell thay dont loose money out of me. most movies that are available for download are rubish quality but it is so expensive to go to cinema £7 per person say popcorn and drink about £10 so you can see why people download the movies and watch it at home. if the cinema was cheaper i would go more often so they would get more money out of me i just wait for sky box office to show it at £3 for however many people i can get in my front room Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Movies I buy when they drop to 30% of new release prices but TV series never drop in price in Australia & we are at least 9mths behind the states so I'll just keep downloading them. SCI-FI is screened in the small hours of the morning here so I have to record them & fast forward through the commercials any way so much the same thing any way. Megalith Posted March 9, 2006 Share Posted March 9, 2006 I am now Downloading more than ever as a result of the MPAA. I am downloading watching and deleting right away. Hell somethings i have downloaded i have deleted without watching just for the hell ov it. I have even started to download new films which is something i hadnt been doing until this announcement. I have also thrown away my BlockBuster card and do not intend to rent a DVD ever again. I get a great amount of satisfaction with every completed download now that i wasn't getting before. I for one would like to thank the MPAA for enriching my life and saving me a small fortune in DVD rental. I am donating half of these savings to nites campaign the other half i am spending on my girlfriend. We are both happier to be saving money and seeing films that we cant get on DVD anyway. My history with torrents had been to download files that were either too old to be considered under copyright law or not available in any other way. So god bless the MPAA for making me go against what i consider morally right. I do however find it harder to get beyond copyright material nowadays which really is a shame. PS i will be eating a Goats head tonite and if there are any virgins here please drop me a line, you have my address :) PPS I am so proud to be a member of this community and long may it go on regardless of its tracker or not. One reason is that here in Australia we don't get the new episodes for at least a year, we are 1 whole season behind on Lost, SG1, Atlantis and just about everything else. One thing these people don't realise is that if I cant download it, thats doesnt mean I would buy it. I would probably only buy 5% of the stuff I download, I download it cause its FREE. Games are a classic example. Every game no matter how much money ( or how little ) it cost to make, they always sell them at top price. The worst is when a new game is no more that a MOD, and they think they can slap a new name on it and charge full price. NO FU@KN way. I have paid for only ONE piece of software in that last 10 years, and that is Half Life 2, they deserve my money after 6 years of development. So yeah I probably download more, part of that is definately spite. The problem is the courts think that if we cant download we will buy, and they could not be more wrong. File sharing software helps us get free stuff, take bittorrent away and we'll got back to things like edonkey, take that away and we'll go back to using IRC, newsgroups whatever it takes. I the last thing I will ever do is give those scumm at the MPAA and RIAA, any of my money and I will actively try to stop others forking over their money aswell. maxg1984 Posted March 10, 2006 Share Posted March 10, 2006 yeap in africa, latin america, and most of asia and eastern europe a hundred dollars means a lot (and not everybody in usa is rich as lots of movies shows). most people worries about what they re going to eat, not what dvd would them like to buy. piracy has spread in most of poor countries because they dont have enough money to buy U$s 200 programs, U$s 50 dvds. give them a decent salary first, and them sue them for piracy... if they have the right to pursue poor people, why poor people doesnt have the right to a higher standard of living?? laws were meant to protect defenseless people.... but if we re not rich enough, we re doomed, no matter where we re living... i will do my best not to turn my posts into political affairs, but if you only had heard the things i did.... i hope this site stays alive, on the other side im worried about what they re doing to nite and many other people... whats the final frontier??? Any show that makes it to TV can be recorded on a VCR or DVD recorder. Guess my feelings are the same about recording music from the radio. I can understand the 2 groups being upset over loss of product but if it was recorded free and not ripped from disk which is currently for sale.. then ummm.... I don't see how they are loosing. And here's my other thought from something i read earlier in this thread, if they want money sooooo bad, then why not get law passed to charge a specialty tax like in Canada that goes to the companies. Hence when you buy DVD R's.. then MPAA gets money.. when you buy CD Rs.. then the RIAA wins. Filesharing of some sort will never completely go away regardless of how many lawsuits are filed.
