What do you think of Enterprise?

I feel much closer to the current characters who seem much more Human to me, as in what we are today, than Picard with his "Goodie two-shoes" approach where he never gets really pissed, never does anything that's "against the rules", etc...

I see in Archer an even more "human" version of Kirk. he gets mad, he curses (lightly, admitted, but this is TV), and he even tortured someone to get information!!!

Yes! This is what makes it interesting for me, too. The Vulcan who must now wrestle with emotion. The Captain who doesn't always have a third way out of moral dilemmas. Perhaps Trek is maturing?

Agreed. It's no more sunshine, moonlight... a little more starlight (which is like, "in between"/"the Gray zone"/...).

I didn't like Picard's "better-than-thou" attitude at times... but it suits his character. I'd say he is rather consequent in his actions anyway.

With the greatest respect,

Elladan

It's not my favorite scifi show, but yes I like Enterprise and don't plan on missing any episodes. For the most part, I have enjoyed all of the Star Trek series. Season 3 was the bomb. I have enjoyed season 4 with the Vulcan storyline quite a bit.

I watched the first few seasons but i havn't had time to watch it after they entered the delta expanse thing. i enjoyed watching it but it just never got me like TNG, DS9, VOY or any of the stargates. if i was going to miss them i'd make sure someone recorded it or download now we're in the dotcom age, i just cant get motivated to do this for enterprise. prehaps i'll give it a second chance it is star trek after all

[x] I like it

It's dirty, more real and in a way more human than TNG or VOY. Archer is an interesting mixture of Picard and Kirk.

Also, the influence of other shows like "X-Files" (increased depth of relationships) and "24" (less compromises) is obvious, without killing the "Star Trek" experience. I like that darker, realistic touch.

Another point is that there is not too much technobubble, because there simply is not many technique they know of - that's a great plus in my opinion.

And they are drinking, eating, stinking and taking showers ;)

Space is so vast. You can't explore and meet beings every week' date=' nomatter how fast you can travel.[/quote']

What are you trying to say?

Do you really want to see a show where absolutely nothing happens? ;) Following this logic every single sciene-fiction series playing on a ship is nonsense.

Series 4 has probably been of the highest quality so far, except these last two bottle episodes weren't up to much.

If the rest of the series can pick up back to standard it was at, Enterprise can at least go out on top should IT happen.

I like Enterprise. It's different from the other shows. Naming it "Enterprise" in the credits was much better than using the words "Star Trek:" like all the other Treks were for over a decade. It's important for new Treks (movies as well as series) to distinguish themselves from their precedents. Archer, despite being a touch hot-headed, has proven to be a capable starship captain. He's not afraid to blow things up when they get too dangerous (ie. ships with hostile cloud beings that take over people's bodies, or a ship full of Borg). Trip has always been good for a laugh. Phlox is a welcome change from the Doctor. I found Mayweather and Reed to be good characters as they follow orders without becoming disorderly like Torres or Tom Paris and only have favorable personality traits. T'Pol, despite her non-Vulcan behaviour, does not come off as aggressive like Kira or Sisko. It's a shame that the junior characters aren't used very well because they have good character. Finding an effective way of bringing Kirk to the series for an episode or two would be great (hopefully this season). In the end I look forward to seeing seven seasons of Enterprise and that these characters find their way to a Star Trek feature film.

The Leutnant is correct.......If Star Trek was real life, most missions would be boring........Nothing would happen.

What TV Shows do is remove the boring missions & only show us the missions where something happens.

Season Four has been good so far. Season three was pretty good also although it had some lower-calibre episodes. Season Two was ok but made a real comeback with the Borg episode. Season One clearly set the series apart from Voyager, where we got used to seeing Starfleet with the best equipment, not the most primitive.

What's not to like about Reed's expertise in weaponry? He's the Scotty of Starfleet weapons. Hopefully he will get a bigger role this season. I hope that he will get to do great things, better than competing with Maj Hayes. Hayes was also a great character and it was such a shame they killed him off. The death of Emory's son this season was sad as I liked Enterprise's optimism, yet another thing that distinguished Enterprise from DS9 or Voyager. Episodes like Daedalus that end in tragedy aren't very effective. Bringing back Kirk this season would be a great boost to the series if they can do it right. A Constitution-class starship on Enterprise? I'd love for it to be the Ent-A brought back from mothballs along with Kirk to help Archer battle a grave threat to what will become the United Federation of Planets.

As you can see I do like Enterprise and for those of you wondering about a Connie on the show. If you go to the bringbackkirk website there is a poster with the Ent-A and Kirk wearing the uniform of a 22nd century Starfleet Admiral. If you go to TrekToday you'll find a fairly recent article that mentions Coto talking about us seeing a Constitution class ship at the end of the season. Enterprise all the way. Let the anticipation begin!

That's why it's only once per 2 weeks (or once per week, if all's going well)... lol

I have found that enterprise lacks where the rest have, but then again i thought the ironry of the augments being droped off at the brair patch was quite funny, along with Dr Soun. I think the writers should play more with time travell, invlove the other ship in the fleet, have a few more appearencs or refrences to charaters/actors from the more advanced series.

Personally, i found that voyager only got interesting from series 5 when they entered borg space, a common themecarried across every eppisode. TNG seemed to differe every week but from series 3/4 it became much better. DS9 got much better when they included Worf into the series. as for TOS...

all i really want to know is what is going to be the basis for the next Star Trek movie... Voyager, Enterprise, TNG or DS9 (prehaps we should start a poll if one dont exist already)

Shatner wouldn't sign on, so the Constitution Class ship will belong to someone else.

.....Oh well.

:(

The next Star Trek Movie is about the Romulan Wars, which takes place after Archer & before Kirk.

It will have an all-new crew & ship, so far as we know now.
