lol thats a good'in the only pub left in LB is the Viking, the other 2 got knocked down, the black bull is at the top of 4 lane ends and im not sure but i think the victory is near, not far from cassa antonios (mmmmmmm) Mind you the metros have gone up! bummer dude. still there are plenty of good bars in town. i used to prefer central station way for friday nights. the head of steam, the fourth, gotham town, the dog and parrot (formerly the tut and shive - and the dog and parrot before that). or the haymarket is prety good. i miss the percy the trent and the strawberry. good beers. shame about the metro tho. i wonder if they have a stop in cardiff ;)

i notice that many of the adverts i see are for newcastle - hotels and other services etc. i would recommend going its a cool place. i am wondering if i see differnt ads to everyone else and if the ads are related in some clever way to the text content of the board. i.e. i have made a few posts about newcastle and it is mentioned by me in a few other threads. do the advertisers look thru the board and analyse what may be more successful to the readers by checking content here? i am wondering about this so with that in mind, and being a bit of a scientist, i think we should mention one place or one product repeatedly in this and other threads to see if the ads change as a result of the content here. if im wrong - well hell i'll just feel stupid now to save time later but, if anyone feels the urge to mention Cardiff in this or any other thread then feel free to take part. this fine city is the capital of wales and home to many pretty girls also because of the accent, most of the men sound gay (no offence to anyone but its true) wonder if i'll get in trouble for this CARDIFF

i thought it would be cool to supplement all the "getting to know you " threads with a thread where we all can tell a little about where we live. i suppose where you are currently, or your home town, or both would do. (toon army!!) The city of Newcastle was founded at the lowest place the Tyne could be easily crossed. In 1080 the Normans built a wooden fort to safeguard the crossing. They also erected a wooden bridge. (The 'new castle' was rebuilt in stone in the 12th century). Soon a little town grew up in the shadow of the new castle and was named after it. In the Middle Ages towns often grew up by castles because the garrisons provided a market for the townspeople's goods. Newcastle prospered partly because of the wars between the English and the Scots. There was much traffic through Newcastle and travellers spent money there. i love the feel of newcastle. i love the buildings and the sense of history. just cant stand the bloody weather.
