projectiles! and plus i think it hurts more. is a energy weapon silent death? plus some bullets can decapitate someone. is it possible for a energy weapon to do that?

I would say that in general, energy weapons are superior, but projectiles are better against the BORG :D

I would have to vote for projectile weapons because there is nothing like sniping someone from the other side of a map and they have no idea where the shot came from. And because of the mini gun.

they have a laser minigun :) mmm miniguns. and hoarding 10,000 ammo of each type in Fallout. Tactics. ammo is the offical currency of the Post Apocalypse as they say. For the Revolution!

Projectile weapons, definately.

 

Stargate does weapons right, however, Star Trek still has those boring phasers. What they need to do is to have an alien race invent a tachyon based energy weapon dampening field, so they'll have to break out the P90's and glocks.

 

Energy Weapon: PSSSH (thats it, come on how lame)

Projectile Weapon: (So much sound its just not describible, thats how awesome projectile weapons are)

Both beam weapons and slug-throwers have there uses and limitations. (BTW, both are engergy weapons.)

 

Personally I like edged weapons, but they also have their drawbacks.

I would say Energy Weapons, but the Projectile weapon in the DS9 episode "Field of Fire" is really good.

Come on people!!! Gas propelled metal projectiles, who can't love those, they always work in an em field, they kill nicely, so you can't accedentaly stun someone. Finally why would you vaporize someone, then there's nothing to kick around afterwards. or throw back at the enemy

hey people!! the sound of projectiles sound GREAT. unlike energy weapons which has some kind of boring sound. but a energy weapon like a lightsaber is kinda cool even though its like melee

That's like part hard projectile, part energy. How about uranium depleted shells, now those are good!!!

Can a projectile heat a rock to give warmth? Only an energy weapon can do that, and I would prefer it because it can shoot from a greater distance and wide angle for more take down force.

under wat classification would a Flamethrower be known as. some say Melee. or Fire but that is not the case here

When you think about it couldn't you get a flame thrower to go far like a gun. Then is would be like an energy weapon. As for that little comment about heating rocks, That's a good point, but those kinda weapons are quite theoretical. A directed energy discharge would shatter the rock before heating them up, beacuse remeber rocks are quite crystalized
