You have to trust me those shots are re-rendered.........just like they were for Star Wars Galaxies. I dont think SWG was a bad game, they just messed it up with the combat update and listened to the needs of crying twelve year olds who wanted to be jedi in 5 minutes.

Looks great in my opinion, I hope I have a job when it comes out so I can afford to play it. I think the great thing about Star Trek is that on the most part its fan base are sensible people. I dont think one will find a whole bunch of 12 year olds here, besides I`ll be using my superior knowledge of the shows to outwit the bastards. What kind of parents can afford to pay for their children to play for these online games, parents who prefer not to pay for child minders? All those early screen shots are re-rendered, no way would it ever look that good. For the record I hate WOW graphics, reminds me of disney land crossed with dungeons and dragons.

I know why shes 'returned' because fake blondes dont look very realistic in period drama's......especially not with dark brown eyebrows! :D

2D fighting games such as Street Fighter were huge at the time, then they lost all popularity when 3D fighting games came out and now no one has any time for those. It begs the question what will Halo 8 actually be like......would you be happy if there were only more scenery interactivity and better graphics......would you buy into that 10 years from now? As someone who has been gaming since 1986 I`m demanding more from the games developers. Walk along shoot, walk along shoot.

I think we shall agree to disagree....COD4 just hasnt delivered in my opinion. Sorry but if you hadnt included COD4 in your sentance I would of thought you were talking about BF2 which was made 3 years ago. The day someone invents a virtual reality light weight head set complete with plastic shooter and online play will be the day this genre is re-invented. Its been tried I know but there wasnt the technology back then.

I assumed the scripts had already been written? Dont they write the scripts in advance? Yes there will no doubt be little tweaks that will be made during filming, but those tweaks I assume Mr Moore would make himself along with the actors.

Its probably delays on the CGI. I think fans were very critical of the CGI repitition on the last season particulary of Colonial One.

Regardless, if its COD4, Halo 3 or Crysis....the format is always the same walk around shoot, walk around shoot. Perhaps one day we will advance beyond this........and this format will die a death just as side scrolling beat-em-ups did in the last century. They are all very linear no matter how much scenery you can destroy or how pretty they look. Games designers need to think of more inventive styles of game play. Thats why everyone loves WII, it a whole new way in which a player can interact with an environement. Ive been playing this format since the 286 came out with Wolfenstien............its all becoming rather samey.

Brilliant Pilot. I still think the franchise needs a film that is based in the future. They were after all our favourite scenes from the films. Perhaps a film where John Connor is killed at the start of the machine war so they logical replacement is a John Connor from the past..........whatever, I dont know how it would work.

Ah yes Sp3......the conspiracy to get us all onto Vista. I remember when Sp2 came out, my old machines became near un-usable with XP, I had to uninstall it.

I forgot mention next patch will have a ground assault death star map along with Hoth which Ive already mentioned. This will be when popularity will probably increase.

Sorry i thought when I said in my initial post that it is a mod, that everyone knew what that was. I also assumed that most people on forum already have the game. I formed this opinion from the feedback that we had on the dedicated BF2142 thread. Sadly this mod does not appear to of taken off. When the mod was first released it was buggy and many players left in frustration. These bugs have now been fixed with a patch. Poor marketing has been another contrubution as well as the fact that most people dont know how to click on the advanced tab to see the server listing to play the game.

They finally made a film about Star Trek Vs Star Wars. See it in Jan 2008.

Queenspoeck thats exactly my point. If it flops Shatner can come on TV and make loads of jokes about it then Paramount in a last distch attempt will bring him back into the franchise. So really its a good thing hes not in the new film.

TNG was different we went forward not in reverse. As I said in my post that was another show about the future just as the show in the 60's was about the future. FUTURE being the key word. Even though Enterprise did have a hand full of good episodes and the best special effects of any Trek series it wasnt about the future so thus died. They should learn from Enterprise. I agree that bringing big acting names into the film is not going to do the film or Trek any favours. It is however essential that we see characters to which fans can relate, that is essential. As there is a small part for Nimoy I assume that this will be a flashback film. I get the feeling that if Ryder was at here height in her career she would probably laugh at being offered the role. I now want this film to flop so Shatner can turn round and be smug about it, then paramount will bring him back and make a real effort to make Star Trek popular again.

Star Trek is the future, its about future technologies. FUTURE is the key word when it comes to Star Trek. By delving into the past the identity of what Star Trek is, is lost. Even if this show is a success and there is a TV spin-off series how exactly will a show based in the past inspire a new generation of technologists and scientists like TNG did? In my opinion it will just be like any other mind numbing TV show. If PS wont come back as Captain of the Enterprise then make Frakes Captain and continue where we left off.

Sorry didnt like it mate and I know everyone wont agree but I dont care :-) It left a bland taste in my mouth, basically more of the good stuff which I had already had seen whilst fraking about with old school Galactica. This shows just becoming bland. We need more discoveries, more planets. I know Mr Moore doesnt want to do that with the show but it needs some fresh ideas and content. It is possible to create a blend of hard military look and fantasy with a show, something thats done very well in SAAB. I would rate this TV film as average 6/10

Battlestar at the cinema would be cool and also give me en excuse to leave the house! Leaked you say? Is nothing sacred anymore?
