  1. Does that processor have a core speed of 2.4 Ghz?
  2. I think this was discussed in detail here over a year ago. I hope the mods dont mind me saying the same things twice........ Its a great idea. Bounty Hunter Chronicles would be great, I`d like to see more of Boba Fett and the other bounty hunters that Vadar hires to capture Han Solo. If the Empire does indeed rule with an iron fist I`d like to see more of that. How the rebel alliance structure works. NO EWOKS thanks George. Ive never seen the animated series it struck me as a rather cheapo Star Wars, with all the cash backing Lucas has its about time he did some live action TV.
  3. DX 10 for vista only? Not strictly true. Cody Brociuous over at Falling Leaf Systems is working on DX10 for XP. He even has a few working examples but dont expect support for everything! 100 pounds is a lot of money to spend almost one third of what a 'good' PC costs these days. Your buying at the wrong time, during the DX10 revolution it wont be long before all the games developers jump on the DX10 band waggon and DX 9 is no more and we are all forced to make the upgrade to Shista. I would suggest you try to be patient or find a card thats less expensive. BUT back onto your orginal question regarding Medal of Honor Airborne unless you have a Core 2 Duo I wouldnt waste your time with the GC upgrade. I realise the official spec says you can play that game with a P4 2.8 GHz, I wouldnt believe it.
  4. I know a little about back up mediums. Flash memory.........not an option once the back up device fails there is no way the data can be recovered, not even if you were Bill Gates best buddy. DVD's, the data is stored as a chemical, this chemical will degrade over time although I am lead to believe if you keep your DVDs in sensible conditions and away from direct sunlight they will live a long and happy life. HD's........my personal favourite since the data can always be recovered if you have a failure, maybe not by you but by one of the many companies out there who specialise in this field. I`m a magnetic medium fan myself although the only disadvantage of HD's I can think of is that they cannot survive many knocks like Flash and DVD's. Want to know what I would do?...............back up the same date to HD and DVD.
  5. In my opinion 100 pounds is too much to spend on a card that cannot run DX10 games correctly.
  6. I am lead to believe that costs are justified through game development, server upkeep and employees who monitor whats going on in the game. What a great job! Watching people play a PC game! I really would like to know how much those people earn. Ive never paid for a subscription to a PC game. The cost has encouraged many people to start running emulated servers like the various Star Wars Galaxies servers that have yet to be released. All of which are totally legal since they are coded from the ground up by the enthusiasts themselves, of course there is the issue of intelllectual property. What I would like to see are more games that allow you to play online with out fees THAT allow a player to take the game so far THEN if they wish put their money in the slot to take the game further. Lets say its possible to play a character to level 40.........with out a subscription you can take that character to level 15, with a subscription to level 40.
  7. I dont want to say what his abilities are...because that would be a spoiler for our European friends.
  8. Probably Takez? Kensei, because hes a rude boy with ancient Japanese weapons and hes going to sleep with that good looking daughter of the sword smith.
  9. Industrial Qualifications and experience is what you need to begin with.......then a university degree to progress. University life is indeed a lot of fun but there is nothing to stop you going to university when your 25. Everyone has to start at the bottom but a degree will sadly be a barrier for you to do this, hence my original point. The only way is to get on after uni is a graduate programme which will probably drop you in at the managerial level. The people who usually get these sort of placements are excellent communicaters and have a lot of charisma. If that is the person you are TFMF then go for it. Seven years after I have never been asked what my disso was about in a job interview and only once was I asked what I did during my placement in the second year. I get the feeling the average employer just isnt interested. University does expand the mind and take your education to the next level...........but never forget its all about finding work, thats why your there.
  10. I`m not saying you'll have no future I`m just pointing out to you the mistakes I made. I wish someone had told me. When the final year came up, I had just finished my disso.........it just dawned on me that I had no trade.
  11. How Cute! Which is the dating channel on IRC here? Ms Evap Ive got the plane tickets booked.
  12. I was brought up well, a child who was punished for even saying s##t. In the modern world its hard not to use bad language. As an adult life isnt alway sweetness , you have to deal with real people and real world issues. Frankly some of the things Ive seen people do are so stupid that they would probably encourage blasphemy from a clerygman. Problem is that everyone is out for number one, be it your employers and anyone else you meet. Anyone who says they arent is a damn liar. When peoples self centred attitude starts to encroach upon my life then that is the time I let loose the bad language, just to point out to them my disapproval of their attitude.
  13. I graduated from university in 2000...........I`m still poor. More than anything Ive found my degree to be a hinderance in regard to getting my foot in the door in companies. The people that will be sifting through the applications and conducting the interviews will not have degrees and they will sadly see you as a threat. If your going to get a degree I would suggest you take a degree that gives you a trade at the end of it otherwise its a waste of three years. Thats the best bit of advice anyone will ever give you regarding uni degrees. If you want to be poor like me you`ll do that multimedia degree if you want to be rich ou'll become a MSCE and CISCO Engineer.........get both and the starting wage will be 25 grand minimum even in deprived areas of the UK.
  14. http://mods.moddb.com/6512/first-strike/downloads/ Can be downloaded from the above.......dont worry mods its not a torrent. 100 percent legit download. Dont forget about the hot fix!
  15. Chiggy

    Bioshock

Thats the annoying thing about new PC games. Developers are always pushing the hardware to its limits. Next month your graphics card is worthless because some new developer expects hardware to mask their poorly coded game with uber processing power. I probably wouldnt be ranting if I was on 21K a year, I just cannot afford to keep up with industry. A games console can only be the most cost effective solution for me.
  16. Ive got a box full of mint carded galoob Generations figures...the ones that everyone hated and didnt buy. I paid one pound each for them. Maybe one day they might be worth 1.50 each ::) Ive also got some the small figures from the first film and from Star Trek III. My ex girlfriend went out of her way to get them for me. Whenever I see her I like to quote Star Trek, I think my last words to her were "from hells heart I stab at thee". Trekies eh.....who says who havent got personalties? :D
  17. At last a Star Trek channel that can be viewed from a standard TV license! I think its something to do with Virgin media and the type of geeks involved in that. They clearly did their market research. Lets support this channel, lets watch the episodes. It was very refreshing to watch Picard and Sisko battle it out, I think it was 1996 when i last watched that episode.
  18. Just a note to remind the UK members of the forum that DS9 is now showing on Channel 20 on Freeview at 8 pm every day. Second episode of season 1 showing tomorrow......tell all your Trek friends.
  19. No Shatner is a mistake. If i were in charge of production I`m not sure I could live with the shame of not casting Bill. Does everyone think he will be alive forever? In only a few years time hes going to be totally useless for film as he will be too old....he might even be........dare I say dead. It was indeed a fitting tribute to see in Scotty in Generations.....please Paramount do something about this.
  20. CiISCO costs 250 pounds per term. Its free to those who are in the ICT business.......but if your unemployed you pay the full price. :grr: I must say with great deals like this at my local college their not exactly encouraging learning in the area of ICT.
  21. I was never told about Vista through Student Portal. Shame I`m not a student anymore..........the Network + course I wanted to do this year was cancelled due to lack of interest.
  22. If Microsoft admit that they will be re-releasing Vista.........then I see no point in buying it. I will wait.
  23. Hugh Laury as Snake? "I say, what 'o Snake! Time to give those post nuclear holocost convicts a good old thrashing dear boy, six of the best". Dream on Hollywood. I am British and I say bring back Kurt because your insulting the man with these rumours. If the people who are making these calls invested in any of the special edition Snake DVD's they would understand how Kurt feels about these films. Gerard Butler as Snake? I think his fate will be the same as those guys he kicked down the pit at Sparta. I know I wouldnt accept him as snake just as I wouldnt accept anyone else to play Indiana Jones. The Escape from New York web site tells a different story........ http://www.escapefromnewyork.co.uk/
  24. Ive always sent my credit card details off. After all I was born yesterday :P
