  1. Nice tool :-) Sadly my motherboard isnt an intel........I`m sorry I didnt tell you that before. My mother board is the RC410M. http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p_spec.asp?model=RC410M-L Ive read the MB manual and theres nothing in there about vcore voltage...........I think it may set it automatically.
  2. I`ll eat a Star Trek novel if this film is a success. Its a recipe for disaster. Look what happened to Star Wars when they also went into reverse gear! There is far better scope for a film which features the crews of the Enterprise, Voyager and DS9 teaming up to fight some deadly threat to Federation, far worse than the Borg. This will unite the fans of all three series and bring an ending to some of the characters. To all of that it would have to be a very long film............so make it 3 hours long...........and call it the Anniversary Film. PICARD must die!
  3. I have a Intel CPU that through stepping has lowered its own Vcore voltage from 1.3 Volts to 1.1 Volts. I have noticed this has reduced the CPU's performance from 4.1 GHz to 3.84 GHz. Adjusting Vcore voltge in many cases is a simple task, however: 1. There is no option in the BIOS that allows the VCORE to be changed on this machine. 2. Flashing the BIOS is not an option, the machine us already running the latest AMI BIOS. 3. The jumpers on the board are already set correctly. 4. Pin moding is not an option as I do not want to break the bond between the CPU, heatsink, MB. Ive heard that there are windows tools that overclockers use to adjust vcore can anyone recommend one that specifically has an option to adjust the vcore voltage? Many thanks for your time.
  4. I did, then I previewed a near to finished release.............I`ll let you make up your own minds.
  5. The big problem I`m having with Star Trek is that there precious little ending to anything. We know that Kirk is dead, Data is dead, Cisco is gone............but what about all those other characters? Are we to assume that everyone else lives happily ever after? To start a film which breaks away from the norm i.e. the chronological time line that all Star Trek films up to now have followed is a crazy mans idea. Sure.......I would go to see a film that brings some closer to the Spock character but not to see the early years..........the early years as far as I am concerned are the original episodes. Star Trekking, across the universe On the Starship Enterprise, under Captain Kirk Star Trekking, across the universe Boldly going backwards for Star Trek XI because we eventually found reverse.
  6. I was formating my spare slave drive.........the primary boot was still in tact with an XP installation. In the end I have decided to send the card back as its future was uncertain.......could of lasted another week or maybe 12 years, electronics can be very random. Everything else appears to be running fine. Damn frustrating as I had yet to even play one game on that machine!
  7. I was merely formating my hard drive when all of a sudden the display went blue and I could smell something rather nasty. After several swear words I hit the power switch on the wall. I then unplugged the PC to inspect the damage. The graphics card was red hot. I then allowed the PC to cool reconnected it with side off the case to establish what the problem was. As it happened the fan on the graphics card was not spinning. The only damage I could see was that the card has several sweat marks aound some the resistors, no burst capacitors. I pulled the card and reseated it and the fan began to spin when i powered the machine up. I then proceeded to test the card with a graphically intense game. The card worked perfectly. What I want to know is............potentially what damage have I done to my system ALSO as the card is still under warranty would you send it back for a replacement or live with it for a while? It is doubtful that I will get a replacement as the card works.........all the retailer is going to tell me is that I didnt seat the card correctly so its my fault.........but I swear the fan was working correctly before. So very hard to prove anything! Thanks for your help.
  8. It couldnt of been the same kid..remember that kid stays in inside and plays playstation games all day! I have to say he was the most pathetic case for game addiction...........any 4 year old would act like that if you took his/her favourite toy away from them. The people we should be paying attention to are those European men..........the one who tells us he couldnt be bothered about seeing his family anymore. Apparently the guy in the US who blew his brains out killed himself in frustration of trying to answer some noobs questions in game! Why didnt he just shoot the noob instead?
  9. Some measures have been taken............like age limits on some of the titles. I remember when I first bought the shareware version of Duke Nukem I had to show some ID at a computer shop. Lets be honest about this...........whats to stop a 12 year old from downloading and playing a game with an 18+ age limit? And how many games shops ask for ID? I`m a really strong believer that its not the amount of time you play on the game its the actual experience of the environment that the game creates that does us harm. Combat games put us on edge and our bodies in tension.........there isnt anyone out there who can be a fighter pilot for a full 24 hours...........not even a real pilot and they have to take breaks. So this fact combined with game addiction I believe is very dangerous and harmful. It may sound silly but at least as a heavy smoker or drinker your body is relaxed!
  10. Before anyone gets worried about what Ive just said about endorphins...endorphins are released due ANY activity that makes us happy e.g. a game of football. Its not something unique to drug addiction or playing computer games. They dont tell you that on the video! But as with most things that make us feel good or happy we like to do them when ever possible. The sad thing is when people have problems in their lives, dont address them, play games instead to release those chemicals to make them feel happy. You can sort of see the paralell there with drug addiction. What worries me the most is combat orientated games...as the games become more advanced and closer to true life isnt there an issue in that the games players might actually experience the same amounts of stress as a real soldier? Except in the case of the games player they have not been trained to deal with the stress? What I DONT mean is people re-creating the game and going on a real life killing spree (thats crap) but rather something closer to whats called combat fatigue in the military? On a lighter note yes I do remember Mario, Sonic and all those other platform games they were fun to play and there was never a time when I felt my body was in tention for the duration of play.
  11. TFMF.....what you are describing is the release of endorphins into the brain.....it is a chemical reaction that gives us the buzz induced by gaming and its the main reason why we become addicted. Neomaster........you would be surprised about how many of those Swedish guys there are out there! I know of this one guy who goes to work, comes home, locks himself in his flat and plays World of Warcraft until the early hours of the morning......gets four hours sleep......then its rinse and repeat. Thats his life! I realise games have been around since the 1980's and 'addicts' have been around since then but it is only recently that online games have come about. These give the gamer less control, we cannot pause the game and we cannot save the game so this provides little opportunity for physical rest. There are players all over the world playing on different servers so there is never a shortage of people to play with because of the time difference. There also an element of peer pressure when you play as a team to stay online that extra hour (even though you need sleep) because your clan needs you. I think if you are playing games for more than 5 hours each day you have a real problem. Life is a gift that should not be wasted.....so why waste it on a game that in two years time no one will remember or remember your achievements? Wouldnt the time be better spent on say.........educating yourself for employment or even starting a family of your own? Games are fun but all I think they should only be used to fill our time........not to take over our lives and neglect reponsibility in the real world. No doubt there will be people here who think I`m talking total rubbish but remember this.........a true addict doesnt realise he/she has a problem until its too late! 12. I remember when playing a PC and console games used to be relaxing. These days the games are so involved and high tention that instead helping to me to chill they make me tired and irritable. When playing hours pass like minutes and as a result I end of tipping the best part of my life into these games which as a result means that I achieve very little in the 'real world'. Maybe I`m just getting old but to be honest I can no longer play real time strategy games and shooting games simply because they drain me. You must of all at some time sat on the edge of your seat because you know theres a sniper waiting for you round the corner........that feeling! In fact when I had glandular fever games made me worse and Medal of Honor Allied Assault was one reason why I had to spend a week in hospital. I was one of the most awesome players ever but for what? That game was killing me in the real world and my body was in constant high tention whilst playing for hours on end. In the end it all caught up with me. These days I mostly play on massive multiplayer games which allow players to chat or fight when they feel the need to do so. The constant on edge tention isnt there, so I can just chill talking to other players, trade gear and then fight when i feel like it. As with any product its about the consumers choice to play or not to play..at least thats what the industry tells us. Then again when something is addictive the consumer may decide to play for an insane amount of time not out of choice but because of addiction. Sounds like drug taking! My story is not unique but I was wondering if any games players here are like me or anyone has any thoughts about modern games? Is it possible to chill whilst playing WW2 games, if so tell me how? :-) Cheers.
  13. What is your obsession with top heavy Jedi Tenebrae? Perhaps your a lot like the bearded wonder.........who seamed to get some kind of perverse kick out of using surgical tape on Ms Fishers lady lumps! Then being sure to tell everyone on every special edition Star Wars release from here to the sun.....and laughing about it! Surely this kind of content only has a place on a German fetish web site...not a VHS rated PG? Never mind the old jedi mind trick, Ive got the old one handed bra trick!
  14. I`m showing my shoe size now but I was 12 when X-Wing came out......and man you were the shit if you owned a 16 Bit sound card and top of the line joystick.........kids were whooping all day whilst playing that. Steve.
  15. Ro Ro RO the Enterprise gently down the stream...............skirt up, trousers down isnt life a scream?! I hope I have answered your question.
  16. Shatners's log, stardate 9522.6: I've never trusted Klingons, and I never will. I could never forgive Berman for the death my character. It seams my attempts to return to Star Trek are problematic at best. Spock says this could be an historic occasion, and I'd like to believe him, but how on earth can history get past people like me?
  17. HA you little petaks! I have seen targs die with more honour! Kallus will be prowd when I die with Batleth in my hand drenched in the blood of my enemies. PERHAPS TODAY is a good day to do my washing.
  18. No ones asking anyone to buy anything ST EMU is FREE...no mindless Star Wars fans here, parting with cash for the very sake of this game being 'Star Wars', hence the title of this thread! Its community based. It is sorry to know that you think MMORG'S are dumn but thats one mans opinion. I think South Park is a waste of space but thats just another opinion from one man, not the collective consensus of this forum. I`m not advertising any gaming server. It just so happened at that time I didnt know of the home of this EMU. What I am advertising is the entire ST EMU Community and letting all the forum resident Star Wars fans know that this project is all about.
  19. The community is huge.........imagine a star wars game that is run by the fans.........items and worlds created by the fans.........being able to host your own Star Wars server. The reason why your friends gave up with this game is because the developers made a mess of that game................the sole purpose of the emu is make a Star Wars game the fans wants to play not the game some silly software house wants you to play. If you are a Star Wars fan and you arent excited by this I would suggest you consult a doctor because your clearly depressed.
  20. Sorry about the caps, I am shouting :-) LOOK AT THIS IT IS TOTALLY AMAZING! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSa5eM8pFh0 I wonder how long it will be before the 'bearded wonder' shuts this operation down?
  21. I prefered the old Robin..The Hooded Man. The geeza with the black hair. Anyway this new sc-fi series starts very soon......see the adverts.
  22. Well my games PC uses the Nvidia Geforce 2 MX 64MB :-) AGP 2.0 Can play CS, MOH, BF, COD on nearly the highest detail settings Of course its totally useless for modern games but thats why in my new machine Ive got a 7600 GT. I rarely use it as I prefer to play on the old machine. I believe that as soon as you take a PC and push it into a high specification roll (you play games on it) you shorten the life of that PC. A PC can realistically operate for 6 years if all your doing is word processing but as soon as you you take it into that high specification roll the life of that PC is reduced to 3 years.
  23. I still play the first game. What made it so popular was the fact that it had a easy to use tool set which allowed many people to go away and build their own lands e.g. Nordock. I havent downloaded the NWM 2 toolset (which is available from the official web site). Early reviews dont make this tool sound as though it is going to be easy to use........you need to have a lot of knowledge of the physics of game graphics if your going to get the most out of it. Still...the actual game graphics look amazing. Your right about RPG's and the time factor...but theres nothing stopping anyone using the save game feature.
  24. Is anyone here planning on buying this game? What do we think about it?
