  1. I'm an apprentice Chef now, and I'm planning out my college courses now. I'm planning on something in the field of investiation. Not sure in what dirction to narrow it down to yet.
  2. Voted for entertainment, becuase thats bacically what sci fi is. I don;t think that I could build a warp reactor just becuase they show you how on Star Trek, or becuase theres diagrams in Star Trek books. So, I dont find it educational. If I want to watch something educational, I watch the Discovery Channel, or read a book.
  3. What about: "The Betazoid Eye for the Klingon Guy" A group of sencitve Betazoid men, spice up the traditional Klingon Warrior's armor. "Trading Spaces: A Ferengi and a Breen" A Ferengi Profiteer trades living quarters with a Breen Soldier for a week, and they both decorate eachothers quarters, in an ameusing way. "Pimp my Shuttlecraft" Hosted by Tom Paris, where a crack team of Starfleet Engineers "Pimp out" Every thing from class 1 shuttles, to borg cubes. "Marquee Settlement Boys" Starring 3 Marquee freedom fighters that make and sell their own Romulan Ale, pull of get rich quick scams against the Federation, and fight against the alcholic Cardassian Settlement supervisor, and his shirtless Bolean assistant settlment supervisor. "The LCARS Savers" Hosted by Jeordi LaForge, and B'Lana Torres-Paris. The hosts will show you step by step on new and exciting federation computer technologies, and will occasionally show the viewers some hints on how to bypass security lockouts. "The Apprentice II" With your host, The Grand Nagus of Ferenginar. ....Oh man, I could go on forever.
  4. Um.... you do realize, of course that the "fi" part for sci-fi, stands for "fiction", eh? They're all lovely dreams, and much of it is based in scientific truth (as we understand it now)... but in the long run, its all just for fun, and not really to be taken as something that can and will happen. I havn;t read this entire thread, so I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned the Drake Equasion yet. Drake Equasion
  5. I'd double check your router's settings, make sure that DHCP is set up properly, and that the router can see 2 seperate mac addreses, and can identify both machines. Also, make sure that both machines has client for microsoft networks and file and print sharing enabled.
  6. Wild horses can't pull me away from the best gaming system ever made: The Personal MFin' Computer! Why is it the best system ever made? becuase I, made it myself, that's why :) Had doom 3 when it came out for PC (1.5igs of ram, radeon 9800 pro, and an over clocked cpu that would make a grown man weap, all settings just Fing cranked) , then checked out how it looked on X box... my god... the Xbox version look more like doom2 :( I think it would be neat if consoles were more modular and upgradable. Like, instead of having to buy an all new console, a brave do it yourselfer had the option to upgrade the mainboard, bios, and video adapter.
  7. I absolutely agree with that. YOu can play as the Alien, and zip around stalking the marines, clinging to the celing, and biting off heads. YOu can play as the Preditor, turn invisible, jump like 30 feet into the air, stalk and kill your prey with your bare hands, honorable exged weapons, or that crazy three dot homing missle. Or, alternativelly you can play a campaign as a marine, and get the hell scared out of you constantally, as if your one of the expendanble marines from the movies. I'd go as far as to say that playing AvP2 as the marine, alone at night time in the dark, with headphones on at a high volume, is probabally one of the scariest things a person can do :) But it's scary in the exact same way as the Alien movies were scary, so it makes it also one of the most enjoyable things one can do as well. Holy hell, I'm gonna install that game, and the expantion pack, like right now. Thanks for the reminder dabrood!
  8. Yeah, every time Nite changes the addy for the site / forums, I make a new book mark, and delete the old one. Oh, a little off topic here, but props on the new av. there, Engneer101
  9. I went for "Pat on the Head". Kinda in the same way that you'd pat your 2 year old on the head, when his / her first word is profanity. You're happy that the kid is talking, just now happy about the actual word.

    Hi There

Thank god that they changed their mind about who was to play the Captian. In the Voyager DVD extras they had a french-canadian woman playing Janeway (as an anglo-canadian, that alone would have ruined it for me, and almost all english speaking citizens in Canada). All hail Kate Mulgrew, Undisputed Queen of Starfleet Command. ... But it is kinda strange that she became an Admiral before Picard did. He probabally just refused it all these years, like Riker getting his own command.
  11. I teared up at the last episode, especially at the end. Not teared up becuase "Oh the Federation is being formed" or "Oh, there's Riker, Troi, and data's voice, oh happy day!" or "Shran got his daughter back, and Trip heroically saved the Captian's life by sacrificing his own". I was kinda misty becuase it was just bad. Trek getting 86'd, in such a lack luster way. Had more of a feeling as a season finale, then a SERIES finale. Kinda had the same feeling as watching someone digging up your beloved pets grave, imo. If they do another trek series, I don't know if I'd vote for a show with Shran as the lead charecter in the ent. timeline, but I'd definatelly cast my vote for anything with Jeffery Colmbs as the lead charecter, he's just an amazing actor.
  12. I had an awful day at work today, the chef and GM were riding riding my ass like it was a Harley. Got home, and 'the boy' drank my last 2 beers, and I got a long assed email from the ol' lady explaining that she can't see me anymore, becuase she's gotten too selfish becuase of me (I have no idea what that means either). That alone is ironic, becuase she was the first person I wanted to call to see tonight to get my mind off things, one more drop in the bucket now, I guess. Today's pay day, and I still have to pay the rent, cable, and phone bill.
  13. Voted Other, I nominate Ace. There is something so damned hot about a punk rock lady that blows stuff all the time.
  14. When polls are outlawed, then only the outlaws will have / use polls.
  15. Whats the problem? Bones is my fav trek charecter of all the series, and I named all my reasons above. And besides, if the EMH mark two was played by Andy Dick of all people, what does thayt say about EMH mark one,?

    Gay Trek.

OK. You're wrong...and now you're corrected. I stand corrected then. So sorry all gay people of the Earth for trying to understand you, instead of just assuming that you're inferior without attempting to talk to you, or getting your opinion on things (Emma, Carl / Matthew, Sean, Mom / Wendy, Ruth / Barb especially). My apologies to you all. It seems that my feeble attempt to look at things from a different ponit of view has failed, and the side I was trying to argue for has refused me. Well, I for one am fed up with gay men trying to pick me up at the bar. Yes I said mom up there in my token gay list, It's true, lets have the backlash then. But no one will ever quote that becuase I'm apaentelly some kind of misfit / homophobe / gay basher. So Be It.

    Best CPU

Intel is for people that buy their comps at Walmart / Staples / Busniess Depot . AMD is for people that build their own machines.
  18. Come on, the EMH sang opera, for christsake. If thats not queer as folk, I dont know what is.

    Gay Trek.

Neelix was obviouslly dating Kes as a cover. I mean, how could anyone suspect him of being gay when he's dating a hot lil' Okampa? They were dating for over 3 years, yet had seperate quarters? Why? Becuase Neelix was watching gay Klingon porn in his quarters aone with the door locked. Cant do that with a live in GF. And him leaving voyager to be in a nice TV friendly Hetero family? Hardly There was talaxian men on that asteroid he move to, and plenty of them. So what if neelix isn;t into Interracial stuff? And Steve, I thought you were arguing FOR tolerance? now your arguing against it? that makes a lot of sence. Gay Niggers From Outer Dpace is one of the most touching films I've ever seen. I'll be honest, I openly cried infront of my friends the first time I saw it. http://www.gnaa.us/
  20. Voted for Good ol' Bones becuase a) every now and then he'd perscribe booze as a valid treatment b) was openly racist against the Vulcans c) had a FUKCED up beard in Star Trek: The Motion Picture d) Brought his own burbon to bonfires e) Swore like a sailor f) Got his mack on more times on camera then the other doctors combined g) The EMH was a fruitcake

    Gay Trek.

StevenofNine: I think you missed my point entirely, but whatever, fight the good fight. synexo: I don't know if Bashir is gay, but you do make an interesting point. He's definatelly somewhere above metrosexual, now that I think of it. He was always way too well groomed, seemed as if he was wearing makeup half the time (not the TV make up either), hung out with too many women that he really had no intention, or chance of dating... one of his good friends, garek made dresses for a living... hrm... him and Chief O'Brien would spend hours in the holosuites alone playing macho, manly prorams. Neelix was with Kes for 3 seasons... dressed and acted extremely flamboyantelly... his only obvious friend WAS a little girl, thats not exactelly gay, but it IS pretty wierd.

    Gay Trek.

So let me get this 'straight', (pardon the pun).... Boris attacks gays, and the gays (if that's not a PC way to put it, I mean no offence) / gay sympethisers start attacking Boris? So correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems to me that those attacking Boris is just as guilty for the whole 'cycle of hate' as he is here. Find some common ground, try to see the situation from the other persons pespective. I used to be wickedly homophobic back when I was younger, then as fate would have it, my first GF "got the gay" as it were. Then My step ma came out of the closet, then I started to work with gay men, and hanging out with them socially, and ya know what, thay're exactelly the same as straight people are. They all work jobs that they hate, dislike the government, complain about taxes, go to the grocery store, get fukcd around in relationships, etc. Its all simple common sence stuff. The basic idea is that we're all people here, wether you're into loving the same sex, or you get your jollies off from spouting hetero-supremicy in sci-fi forums, we're all the same, and we all deserve the respect and understanding from each other. Anyway, a few posts back, someone pointed out that Enterprise already has a gay charecter, so get over it already :P
  23. Perhaps the nudes were inconspicuouslly conspicuous?
