  1. heh, the last forum member that I can remember having something to do with blogspot, was BorisP.
  2. Has anyone experienced credits just vanishing out of nowhere at all lately? last night I had 26 trillion in the bank, and 4 trillion on a planet. I woke up and I have 16 trillion in the bank, and about 200 million on the planet. The planet wasn't attacked, and it's not set to corporate. I checked my logs, and there was nothing in them that could eplain what the hell happened. Can anyone relate to this, at all? It's just plain wierd that cash in the IGB would just walk away.
  3. I'm not hiring a spell checker, there Dee. I'm hireing an artist.
  4. I'm looking to actually pay someone to design a layout for my latest project http://www.backofthehouse.org . The goal is to have it as a semi-professional / semi casual website dedicated to the human titans that work the kitchens in resturaunts, french fry trucks, and hotels around the world. Now before you disregard this post as S0V13T's drunken foolishness, I have to say that it isn't. First of all, I'm PRETTY sober, only having two beers in my system. Secondly, I've had this project in mind for a few years now, but never really done anything besides think about in between orders at work, and having a game of slapass with the other cooks. Now I actually have the domain name, a load of material to put on it, and a server to store it all on, and the funds to give a talented artist that can nail what I have in mind to make the at-work day dreams of 500 million strong professional kitchen slaves a reality. The general idea of what I have in mind is having the equivelent community for the cooks, chefs, and dishwashers (and to a lesser degree, the bussers, servers and hostesses) of the Food Service Industry, as what NiteShdw.com was for sci-fi junkies was before the whole torrent misunderstanding. I've looked around, and it seems that the only websites devoted towards professional cooks and chefs are wickedly dull recipe search engines, and jerks arguing about who's leeter, Juila Childs or Anton brown. Those kinds of things NEVER apply in real industreal kitchens. I'm just looking for a web page design. I already own my own server, and have the domain (http://www.backofthehouse.org) name registered, and I'm more then capable of doing the programming, and database manegement myself. The site design isn't for any busniess, or anything, just something for me to screw around with on my days off, and hopefully build up a user base of other profesional cooks, and chefs in my area, and then hopefully around the world. The design idea I have in mind should reflect the content that I'm gathering for the site, a casual / professional exchange of ideas and methods, laced with common easy to relate to language (i.e. extreme profanity, dripping with filthy sexual innuendo, as is the native language of all professional kitchen slaves). Basiclly I'm looking for a darkish semi-corporate like design, that people might mistake for the 'official' home page of a chain resturaunt at first glance. The over all theme should also hint towards what the site is really about, the fact that the unseen cooks in the back hate their jobs, don't really give a f*ck about anything besides going out back for a quick smoke, and going home for the night, getting drunk / stoned and will usually find any excuse to screw around, and have a good time at work. I have a basic run down on what people can expect to find on the completed site already posted @ http://backofthehouse.org/ if you need further info as to what the site will be all about, also the movie "Waiting..." will provide excelent info as to the mind set, and general attitudes of people in the busniess. you can contact me with ideas and questions and all that either via PM here, or email @ admin@itsazero.com, I'd perfer to keep most of the communications for this project private (especially the busniess end of it), but I'm fine with answering general questions, or giving yes / no answers in the thread. serious enteries only, one entery per household, etc, yes, I will PayPal you whatever we agree upon immedetelly upon giving you the thumbs up, this is not a joke, blah blah blah legal disclaimers, the website, despite the language, and contents would be concitered something of an 'official' trade site, so I'm looking for something 'professionally' photoshopped and streamlined, not something slapped together kinda deal.
  5. My site has a 100% female estimate. Why? Simple. Chicks dig teh s0v.
  6. Yeah, either your a member of the Dominion, or the Planeteers this time around. No real middle ground for the smaller factions. Just pretty much terget practice for the super powers.

    Game bounties

I get a bit of a perverted thrill out of the fact that he placed the largest bounty by far on me :)
  8. Don't forget the dosens of covers that make batman look like a chld molestor.
  9. I saw the movie tonight. It was surprisingly true to the older movies, to be honest, I was really impressed with that. I was kinda assuming that they would have screwed it up, with attempst to make it appeal to the kids these days (Like the bat man movies for example.) What I WASN'T impressed with, was the couple of twists they threw in, and the fact that Lex Lutur still dosent seem to really think his plans through at all, but they always seem to ALMOST work. Kinda like me.
  10. Yeah, basiclly the golden age is over and done with in #startrek. I don't wan't to name any names or anything, but a hand full of jackasses pretty much ruined it for everyone. That, and when the rules WERE enforced, the enforcee would usually report the enforcer to a higher level, and the enforcer would get in trouble. So basiclly the ops got frusterated and all gave up.
  11. Yeah, I'm wickedly busy lately and it's just gonna get worse untill sept., so I havn't really done anything with any of my sites for like the past 5 months or so. Working a physically demanding full time job (With some MAJOR sexual harassment oriented benifets notwithstanding), and spending time with the wife and kids, and the house / yard work is basiclly all I have time for. As much as that sucks, as I really miss gaming 18 hours a day, getting drunker then Boris Yeltsin at Marti Gras, and messing about on IRC and the forums. I'll just try and arbitrarily try to respond to a few comments, in no particular order, for no real reason besides the fact that I should really own up to a few things. - I LOVE Yuri's Revenge, and would LOVE to host that, and some RA2, best games ever made IMO. The only reason I havn't yet, is becuase there is no dedicated server software, that I've been able to find, regardless of platform. If anyone can prove me wrong for that, PLEASE DO! I promise you that the server will be up in 24 hours if I can get a link to a RPM, or similer linux pakage. Otherwise, it'll have to be done with people just setting up a server from ingame, leaving their comps on, and waiting for someone to conect to play them. If that's the case, I will set up some kind of NiteShdw Yuri's Revenge match making page, so that everyone knows where to connect, what time of the day would be perfered for the Host, and a reletive skill level notification, so that pros can play pros, and noobs can play noobs. I'm so leet at RA2, that I'll play aganst 7 pros at once, cook dinner, talk on the phone / ventrillo, Dig a fresh water well in the back yard, and watch a movie on the other comp all at once, and still win by a land slide. - Yeah, the root admin, who shall go unnamed kinda mucked around with the CS:S stats generator, or the server it's self, or something, and it's not really recording the stats any more. Since nobody can rack up the bragging rights any more by posting a link to the stats page and saying "haha! Check out how many times I pwned S0V13T", it kinda went down hill, as far as community parcitipation goes. Read the opening paragraph in this post, for details on why it hasn;t been fixed yet. That, and I'm not gonna lie to ya, I'm just plain lazy. There, I said it. - America's Army. No. - I found a really frigging old Elite Force 2 server for linux, but it's kinda all duct taped together, and not REALLY all that easy to set up and get off the ground. I did muck about with it for a couple of hours a while ago, but gave up when I realized what a toal noob I was. - I still dig Return to Castle Wolfenstine: Enemy Teritoy, as it's a 100% free game from our good friends at ID Software for everyone on PC, Linux (and I think theres a mac version) It's the only game that I found that's fun to play online, and required ZERO Linux configging / patching/ hacking, etc to play the client (no idea about the server, but I imagine it couldn;t be that hard to set up).
  12. I got some classic horror movies the other day: White Zombie The Corpse Vanishes One Body too Many Nosferatu Dead Men Walk Chain of Souls Revolt of the Zombies Night of the Living Dead Hard Rock Zombies It's Alive And a copy of Hitman: Blood Money
  13. It's one of the perks of being in a larger alliance. a couple of guys spend their turns doing nothing but scouting out enemy planets, a couple do nothing but generate credits, and a couple, like Lienox, do nothing besides attack planets and ships, based on scouting reports. T.S. will be spending the remainder of the game writing out 1000 times on the chalk board, "I will double check that I have an escape pod before I try to attack a heavliy defended planet." R.I.P TetsuoShima, we hardly knew thee.
  14. I actually bought a copy of Mandriva linux not too long ago (Bought it for around 25 canadian), just so that it had the ATI drivers install by default, instead of having to muck about with kernal recompiling. Basiclly, if you have winex and / or cdgrea installed, and know how to google " linux" you can get instructions or patches, to run almost any game under linux if you're willing to do a little leg work. I have installed, and can 100% vouch for the stability at the moment under linux for: Soldier of fortune 2 (And any other Quake 3 based game, like MOH:AA, Elite Force for eg) Counterstrike: Source Half Life 2 Falout 1&2 Return to castle wolfenstine: Enemy terrirory (Native Linux version) Postal 2 / Expantion Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
  15. Man, I've bought a LOT* of DVD's lately. Titus (If you like tales of revenge, counter revenge, violence, Sir Anthony Hopkins, and Shakespeare) Rock n' Roll High School: Rock On Edition (The Ramones. Enough Said) Romper Stomper (Russel Crowe's 80's / Austrailian version of American History X) Serenety (For obvious reasons) * Lot = reletive to my previous movie DVD purchaces, which equal exactelly zero, not including my previous post regarding Ghostbusters.
  16. I don't know the exact figures when it kicked in, but last time around, I had events in my log saying that "all energy / organics were wiped out from planet X" Didn't SEEM to happen untill the planets effected had 3 out of 4 red squares in the main menu interface, I had 5 planets in THAT sector, and the planets effected had 70,000,000 out of 75,000,000 colonists. I didn't see the exact words "Planetary apocolypse" anywhere in the logs, of course, but that's what I'm assuming that it was, just seems to click in.
  17. Basiclly, if you choose to make one of your planets corporate, then you are allowing everyone in your alliance to see that planet, and giving them the ability to control your world as if it's their own. that includes changing productions, renaming the planet, taking all the credits, colonists, ore and even blowing it up. So by that reasoning, if you have a problem with n00b players mooching money off you then don't share your planets that you have tons of cash stored on, instead suggest that they get a loan from the bank. as far as newbies needing sugar daddies go, I don't think thats entirely true, as most players will not attack a planet / ship that signifigantly weaker then they are. Unless they really want to :) Nah, dosent look like theres a map exchange feature, but that would definatelly be cool though. Being able to see all the squares that the combined scoutting effort of your alliance has revealed would be nice.
  18. your corp. planets defences are still calculated from YOUR tech level stats. Say my average tech level is at 3, and NiteShdw is at 25. You attack one of my planets, with your average tech level of 10, - you're gonna win. Unless Niteshdw happens to be in the sector, at that exact moment, then I imagine he'd ship to ship attack you. So anyways, yeah, your planet defences are all based on your own tech level. The point of alliances is to share information, credits, resources, and the security of knowing that people in the same alliance as you arn't going to attack you.
  19. Nite, do you have an approx. time as to when you're resetting the game? Like 12:01 am, or 11:59pm? We'd appreciate a little more detailed heads up, so we can plan aquardingly in regards to our work / school scheduals.
  20. "How is that cheating, if the developers put it in the game?" "No, I'm not hacking / aimbotting." "My tactics just work better then yours. Sorry." "I just have an accurate shot at long range. Yes, even with a pistol or a shotgun." "I suggest that you try another game. Like knitting." "No, I won't fix your computer. Unless there is money exchanged." "No, I'm not comming in on my day off." "Yes, I'd love another drink, thank you." "Ahoy" "Aloha" "Alohoy" "Are you kids into porno?" "She didn't ACT underaged, Your Honour." "Walking in, fifty, a buff, fish and chips, and a philly beef." "Oh so you have a degree in computer sciences, eh? Right on, take the trash out, clean the grease trap, clear out the dish pt, then bring up some medium and hot sauce." "Think that the chicks would dig a guy named Adolf Mao / Ghengis Stalin / George W. Dracul?" "The only DVD's I've bought are blank ones." "Back when I was in jail, my nick name was 'footlong'." "So... er, Who'd win in a fight, Batman, or (random super hero / Villian)? "I always got so mad when The Joker / Lex Luthor / Doctor Doom's plan got foiled." Got a million more.

I'm hoping that Bin Laden will release another one of his famous video tapes condemning America, baseball, and apple pie. Hopefully, he'll claim to be the anti-christ ( I can't think of another appropriate title for a muslim fundementalist extremest, like him), and G.W. Bush will declare his war against terror to be, infact, the Apocolypse. Hell, he's already called it World War Three.
  22. I believe that my avatar suits me very well. Ever since I found it, and made it into an avatarI knew that I wouldn;t have a need to change it for a long long time. It's more likely that I'll change my handle to something besides S0V13T, before I change my av.
  23. yeah, I have to agree with keeping the galaxy at 5000. The more people that play, the more real estate will be needed. Also, it's not really fair when you get a jerk like S0V13T that spends 3/4 of his turns cruising the galaxy for the soul purpose of exterminating the opposition, and assimilating their planets. The more room there is the batter everyones chances are to not get rocked by the Red war machine ;) I'm fine with slowing the game down, as the only time I play is during my AM coffee, and after work when I have like 400 turnes saved up anyways, so from my perspective, 200 will be just as good. Also, I'd also rather have the big reset happen sooner, as opposed to later, as I believe that I have a pretty good grasp on how the game is played. But, there are obviouslly a ton of other players that would definatelly benefet from a little more practice, and 'learning the ropes'. June 4th is good for me, june 11th is good too, one hour from now also does the job imo as well. Also, remember everyone. Whenever I liberate one of your worlds, I am increacing their quality of life. All citizens of of my personal empire enjoy free health care, universal sufffarage, and very competitive wages, and worker benefets in my vast network of Ore refineries, Organics fields, Goods factories, Energy reactors, accounting stations, and all Enlisted men and women building Fighters and Torpedos get all that, and a very lucrative paid vacation pakage. The S0V13T Union, Founding Orginization behind The Moderator Union, is dedicated to looking after the rights and welfare of ALL workers. Sometimes by force. Edit: by the way NiteShdw, nice job getting the "Online Players" working.
