  1. ROFL I'm an alien. I hate it when people cant differentiate between an alien space ship and a UFO. not all UFOs are alien spacecraft.......we just cant identify it :P
  2. I agree, that really gave me the s#@%s. Personally I would at least take a batleth with me, make short work of them. I picked energy weapons for no apparent reason....maybe because there is so much to learn in that field. although projectiles are fun, how about mercury tipped bullets that explode on contact woohoo (if i remember correctly) are atomic and fusion bombs considered energy weapons or projectiles?....they are both fired as a missle or bomb, but they both are based on an energy reaction :stare:
  3. I'm curious what everyones opinion is on this issue. Recently the US government has said that they are not planning to put weapons into space. That being said they are spending 500 million a year developing such weapons as antisatellite weapons, space-based antimissile systems, laser beam weapons and bombardment satellites using kinetic impact, directed energy and possibly nuclear explosions. and the air force is pushing for the approval to deploy these weapons 2001 Quadrennial Defense Review in the US said that it should be a priority to have a monopoly on weapons in space and to deny other nations the ability. the U.S. Space Command has a doctrine of "Full Spectrum Dominance," saying that "the nation which dominates outer space will dominate the Earth." Space, according to the Space Command, is a legitimate and final frontier from which the United States should project its power. Personally I find this all a bit unsettling, I dont think any nation should have that much power.

    continent

I'm hailing from the island continent, Australia. I'm also a Danish citizen I'm all for the strengthening of the EU, the world could do with a more balanced distribution of power. I was flicking through the nasa website the other day and was reading some reports on US spending on weapons technology for in space and there was a quote of an official saying "whoever controls space controls the world" scary stuff. what's that saying again "power corrupts but absolute power corrupts absolutely" edit: woops, wasnt nasa site, was the florida space research institute site
  5. I think we have too much time on our hands
  6. i think he looks more like Grizzly adams with a trim than george lucas.... I reckon george lucas made the ewoks in his own image

    Kill Bill

I really like kill bill 1 and 2 They certainly went a bit overboard with the gushing blood. but in general i didnt think it was too over the top. I would probably be put off if it were alot of sadistic violence showing someone taking pleasure in torturing and killing someone slowly. I thought the Oren's little speech after chopping off the head during the underworld meeting was too much of an attempt on QTs part to create a popular catch phrase/soundbite like what he achieved in Pulp Fiction. In general I am a fan of QT, i like the way he presents the stories in a non linear fashion. speaking of QT films, the actor that played Tasha Yar in TNG was in QT's film Jackie Brown.
  8. Yeah that was pretty good, very unexpected. The look on his clone's face was priceless. I didnt realise alot of people didnt like the movie? I'll go back under my rock I think. I find it really hard to pick the best out of so many good eps ummmm, picards speech for data in "measure of a man" was good from what i remember. Or Riker taking the piss out of picard with the picard doll in the "picard day" scene (just watched that ep)
  9. There's just something about hairy ears :P LOL
  10. All those planets in TOS that had civilizations based on a period in earths history gave me the s#$%@. Seems like they were looking for any excuse to use old sets lying around Desilu studios. .....I was just about to complain about Dr Soong being alive with the augments in enterprise, and dying in TNG....then I noticed it was Arik Soong with the augments :o dagnammit
  11. By "Star Trek Spunk" I mean: hottest Star Trek male
  12. I voted for Asimov, love his books. Also love Marion Zimmer Bradley, Ursula le Guinn and E.E.doc Smith
  13. Porthos was Captain Archer's beagle in Enterprise, he didnt really do much except eat cheese and look cute. I was really stretching to get the numbers for the poll Anyone know of any other pets that were missed? Good spot on Picard being Q's pet, he can certainly do the most tricks ;)
  14. I vote for Spot, he was the most amusing little terror. I just loved it when data was giving worf caring instructions saying that he has to tell spot that he is a good cat and a beautiful cat... :cyclops:
  15. Yeah i am sitting here now wearing my wellies with my pet sheep on my lap!(that was sarcasm by the way). Generally we do not get many sheep roaming the streets of cardiff. Technically i am not totally welsh anyway, as i was born in dorchester but i have lived in wales since i was ten. As there are not many people of the female variety around this forum there is probably no point in doing a "hottest star trek guy" thread. :p i think you should do your hot guy topic. you dont just need girls in the forum to comment. there are a few guys who will join in i think. just dont expect a multitude of responses in a day or two OK, i've started a thread "Startrek Spunk" to balance things out :p
  16. Who takes the prize for hottest startrek spunk? I reckon Chakotay is probably at the top of the list, the tattoo is pretty cool. Travis is also a contender. Who do you reckon? the Nagus??? :p
  17. I think Tasha Yar was spunk, she has my vote
  18. moogie???? what are you drunk?
  19. I was surprised that the writers went to the trouble of explaining the difference in klingon facial ridges from the original to the rest of the series. Personally I didnt expect them to bother. (Incase anyone missed it...a virus formed that altered klingon dna as a result of them experimenting with human augment dna) What else should they be explaining? I could swear I saw the breen in a star wars movie...
  20. nice of you to keep us company then ;)
  21. hahahahahahaha...you are too funny. A quick question...in your avatar...is that a doober you're holding??? c4 :p i dont think so. and, confidentially thats not me. im a real person. thats like a cartoon pic. keep it under your hat LOL my life as i knew it is over

    Gay Trek.

oh and just a thought on the comments that gay people dont have anything to contribute to society or are mentally unstable etc. you do realise that alot of great people in history were gay...Leonardo, Plato, Michaelangelo, Tchaikovsky, Alexander the Great, Handel, Hadrian, Lord Byron, Aristotle, Hans Christian Anderson, Pope John XII, Pope Benedict IX, Pope Julius III, T.E. Lawrence, Socrates, King James I, Queen Anne just to name a few :p
